Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged

GrandPrix06GT

New member
Just had a 2008 chrysler 300 on 22s with the system n tinted windows but decided to get rid of it, insurance and finance was too steep for me. So I got this 2006 Grand Prix GT and I'm really excited for it. It has 69500 miles, 3.8 series III, GenV supercharger, remote start, fully loaded with black leather, heated seats, power sunroof, 17 inch chrome stock split 5 stars, 12k HIDs, and so far I put the pioneer avh-2400bt in i, along with my 2 12" audiopipe ipipes with 120 cell battery, and a custom air intake. Plenty of future mods to it tho and soon! Waiting for speed daddy headers in the mail and then planning on an overkill pcm with a 3.6 pulley or a 3.5 depending how everything goes. ANY INPUT OR RECOMMENDATIONS WILL HELP ME! I'm a little mechanically inclined but as far as these 3.8 motors I don't know much, I did have a 2003 Monte Carlo SS for a year or so tho, but I did not do any mods other than rims and a system.. Although I've been reading a lot on here and everyone seems to be great help, my dad are brother are mechanics so that is a major plus! Here are some pictures of it and what I've done.

Here's my old Monte..

Back..the kid must have switched to gtp emblems because I'm pretty sure gtp's stopped after 05. And I don't know if them are stock exhaust tips or after market? I like them a lot better than the other looking duals tho!

Regarding your like for "rims" I would say you need to avoid them on this car. W-bodys don't take too well to heavy wheels.

Gibralter subs? I like them from there! and nice ride! I am right over in Saint Clair Shores

Lol yeah I agree, I'd do the gxp rims most on this car. Them 20s n 22s were reallyy heavy. Thanks

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged Quick Modding

Nice ride, I have the same color. They made gtps even after 05 so what you have is a 06 gtp with a gen v supercharger and not a m90. Also those are new exhaust tips cause stock they came with the pig nose tips

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged Quick Modding

Nice GTP...you really went to town lubing those seats up, I'm blinded. Paint that 45 on your intake black and don't forget the tint on your shopping list

Wow really? I didn't know they made them after. He told me it was a gtp but it didn't have the comp g package. I was going to buy a black 2006 gt supercharged with the same rims and everything so I just thought he switched badges. Thanks for the info!

Haha thank you and I was going to paint it but didn't have spray paint and then it started snowing! N it was so dirty when I got it. The kid had to of never vacuumed it since he bought it n I'm not lying. It was discusting!. Tints are a must I hate the fishbowl, thanks!

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged Quick Modding

I belive the GTP were only available in 04/05. 06-08 they switched to GT1/GT2. So the badge might of been added.

The tips are actually a dealer add on option called the SPO package which usually includes honeycomb style grills like this..

Okay, I thought so because everywhere I need to type in my car to look for parts theres no gtp option, just gt s/c option. As far as the grills I have the honeycombs although they are black and not silver. And I know for sure I dont have the spo spoiler but that is on my list to get for sure!

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged Quick Modding

This is kinda confusing... CompG badge? White valve covers? That would indicate it's a 2005. Then again, I thought chrome rings and solid headrests were '06+. Door sticker doesn't say FE3, does it?

Also, I have to say I'm most concerned that it doesn't look like you connected your PCV to the new intake. If so, that's gonna cause you some problems. Needs to go between the MAF tube and throttlebody.

White valve covers? It has the gtp badge..not the comp g, which I think was just put on. I just checked the title and it says 2006 Grand Prix, I'm not sure what the door sticker says ill have to check that. And as far as the pcv...i haven't connected that yet, at least I haven't driven it a lot lol, but can I put that between the cone and maf into the PVC pipe? Or does it need to go between the maf and tb? I don't know too much so bear with me and I appreciate the help:)

Late 05 have the comp G badges. The interior itself indicates its a 06-08. Chrome ac vent rings. Perforated steering wheel and shift knob. Aluminum door inserts. GM badges on the side of the door.etc

The 04-05 come with light color valve covers like yours
06-08 come with black valve covers

It could easily indicate the the valve covers could of been swapped or even the motor but honestly it could of just been a left over set of valve covers that was just added from the factory.

Either way I would not worry about it.

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged Quick Modding

I looked thru some of the previous owners records that was in the glove box n everything is saying 2006 GT so that's what I thought it was anyways. As far as the door sticker, if its on the door jams of the driver door I didn't se fe3, although the date said 10/05 so idk if that could tell you guys anything. But I'm not worried about any of it.

Could you let me know about the pcv between the cone and maf or if it needs to be between the maf and tb? Cuz I'd like to take care of that today even tho its below freezing here. Thanks

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged Quick Modding

The service parts identification is on the drivers door?

Typically its on the trunk lid, glove box, or inside the spare tire well.
