Re: 1997 Black GTP, A Couple New Pictures 12/5/12

You really need a non-97 washer fluid bottle.

And they're super easy to put in...especially if you're down there ripping off the SDAD

Re: 1997 Black GTP, A Couple New Pictures 12/5/12

Yeah im aware.

This washer fluid bottle is such a pain in the ass.

Ill just add that to the list everything else i need for this car.

Slowly but surely, itll get there. I think...

Re: 1997 Black GTP, A Couple New Pictures 12/5/12

Good thing about the washer fluid bottle is that you should be able to do the swap for probably $5...and some vacuum line re-routing.

Ebay carries the washer fluid bottle for $50. wtf.

and vac line rerouting? Like what?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, A Couple New Pictures 12/5/12

Just moving it all to the inside of the fenderwell.

And no.

Junkyard and a bottle of bleach. Let it soak in the bottle for a day...rinse out. Good as new. Same goes for coolant bottles.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, A Couple New Pictures 12/5/12

Thats not bad, but consider finding a donor car at a junk yard and buying all the stuff for it and save$$$

You also have to have the newer style bracket, pump is different, level indicator and switch... all have to be updated, so pulling it all from a car and cleaning up the tank would be the way I would do it.

New from a dealer you'd be looking about $300 for the new container, pump, switch, bracket and hoses... CRAZY

Re: 1997 Black GTP, A Couple New Pictures 12/5/12

With all those things you listed Sheff, other than the bottle itself, where are those located on the car? Are they all mainly right on the bottle itself?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, A Couple New Pictures 12/5/12

I figure a visual breakdown would be easier for comparison.

BTW note that 12 goes with 13 but doesn't come with it if you buy one new. You have to have 12 it is what you see under the hood. Otherwise you'd need a long funnel to refill lol.

The connectors for the pump and switch should be the same, but the pump is a different design and the switch/level unit is also a new style, so make sure you get these and the mounting bracket.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, A Couple New Pictures 12/5/12

There are 2 different styles of pumps I don't think they changed until 01-02 ish

Re: 1997 Black GTP, A Couple New Pictures 12/5/12

They could be the same just different #s. I showed different #s between a 97 and my own 99... but I have seen the exact same part with 2 different numbers in my catalog before so :th_shrugshoulders:

Re: 1997 Black GTP, A Couple New Pictures 12/5/12

I know one from an 03 is different than a 00 one but the 00 one worked on a 97 so sometime in there they changed it

Re: 1997 Black GTP, A Couple New Pictures 12/5/12

Brought the car to Discount Tire. Got my Steelies on for the winter. The Chrome rims needed to come off as they are peeling like no other.

I attempted to take the SD Air Dam off but damn, that 3M tape is strong as balls. So i just left it.

Also, my hood and air dam are chipping and peeling like a b*tch so i contacted the guy who painted everything for me, and sent him pictures of it. He said "all my work is guaranteed, im terribly sorry for this, bring it in and i will re-do everything for you until your satisfied." Pretty good service i would say, so i told him, ill bring the car back in after the winter months as theres no point in getting everything re-painted while winter is here. Ill just be patient and wait. Ill also be getting my gas cap rust spot fixed by him at the same time. Thank the lord.

I also removed the "Drunkie" sticker i had going down the back window as im going to be getting a new one saying "P.L.K. 11/12/93 - 6/5/10" In honor of my best girlfriend that died in a car accident.

Lastly, like i mentioned earlier in my thread, my 1200w SPL amp powering all my door speakers went out. Red protection light wouldnt turn off so i grabbed a 12v spare battery that i had, charged it fully, and hooked it up directly to the amp, checked fuses and nothing. Not even the red light wont come on. Yes i had the wires in the right spot and the remote went to the + of the battery also. Safe to say thats toast, so im on the look out for a good 4-channel amp for all speakers now.

Ive owned this car for 1.5 years and i counted up all my receipts of repairs only ive done to this car and it equalled $2717.52. Only a $1000 less than what the car is worth LOL. So with everything invested in this car that ive done so far, it totals out to be $6700, and thats with ZERO go fast parts. LOL again.

Yeah shes as dirty as your mom:

Re: 1997 Black GTP, She's Now A Snow Plow.

Looks like a stress crack from being bumped into something. :th_liar:

Was it hanging a little too low for you Dan? hmmm? HMMM???

WHAT DID YOU DO DAN?!?!?!!?!?!?!?

:th_jester:

Re: 1997 Black GTP, She's Now A Snow Plow.

Dan, take everything off, put your stock hood on and let him do it all over the winter. That way when spring comes you won't have to worry about taking the time then. or messing up your SD hood this winter, and not just the paint.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, She's Now A Snow Plow.

Heres the problem, i dont have my stock hood anymore. I was in desperate need of money so i sold it for $120.

Well heres the plans for this winter:
SD Headers
LIM
3.5 Pulley
Tune
Plugs
Aeroforce, Wideband, Trans temp or Oil pressure gauge with HUD pod.

Plans for the upcoming summer:
Lowering Springs
Small wheel spacers
SLP Gen 1 spoiler
Borla XS Pro Mufflers
Fix Rust

Fixed, JK, seems like after the winter you will be able to beat all Red GTP's.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, She's Now A Snow Plow.

He might... OH WAIT.. Nope.. At the last Red GTP meeting we all decided that WE were doing a VERY similar build this winter.....
