Just a Topaz Gold Metallic GTP

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

Checked the wiring and nothing out of the ordinary.

I was doing a little walk around the motor and checking the LIM gaskets( Nice and Dry). Noticed something amiss!!! Upon further inspection......luckily I have spare Moog parts.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

Easy fix. Make sure your sway bar isn't hitting your dp

Will do, when I put in the new sway bar bushings I'm also going to replace the sway bar end link bushings with the red polys. They are $12 for a set at the parts store, I used the polys on my 90 mustang and it made a big impact. Unless you recommend something else.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

The sway bar bushing that popped out has me annoyed, so this Saturday I'm going over to the Post Auto shop and get that thing back in there til I go home on leave and put in the Moog bushings.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

Mighty tempting on the duct tape. Wiil most likely just shove it back in there and tighten it down good til I get home and put my new ones in.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

I might be getting a Equus boost/ vacuum gauge tomorrow. What are yall's opinions on their gauges. I don't have the funds to get a nice autometer style gauge. I am trading a 10" sub for it. Here is pic of what I'm getting.

glowshift gauges. get em.

I looked at them, but got no funds. I'm trading to get this gauge. Just wondering if Equus is worth the work. I have my torque app which gives boost readings from the MAP sensor through my OBD 2 port, but lots of people are saying to get a mechanical gauge cause it's better.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

So....I'm starting my build/ progress thread. Used to own a black 97 GT, had to let it go and hoped to one day get another GP. The chance came along and I got a Gold (don't know the official name) GTP. It is bone stock right now, want to do lots of mods to it. Due to finance reasons I will not be doing any mods for a while. Although I have cleaned it up and scrubbed off the dirty tips.

The next morning after I got it

I read the write up about safely modding your 3800 and found it very helpful. So the first mod I might do is de badge and DIY intake.

Engine looks great

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

can't wait until you paint the valve covers, dog bones and diag braces....unless you are keeping them black. If that is the case, clean those valve covers.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

Yeah, all the painting stuff will be done during this next summer back in Texas after I get out of the ARMY. I'm in Louisiana with no tools and I'm not paying $3 an hour to use the flat bays in the DIY shop just to wait for paint to dry. I am working on getting myself some PRE GENS!!! I have found 3 of them at $25 a piece, starting next paycheck I will pick them up one at a time, so as not to draw attention from my "FINANCIAL ADVISOR" haha.
