New pictures of my '06 SSlobalt, sweet, right?

The paint on my SS was in really bad shape when I got it (along with the rest of the car) because the previous owner really didn't take care of it. I took some time to wash, claybar and polish it (used my pc7424, orange pads and 3m perfect-it machine glaze) and then put a few coats of zaino on (unfortunately all I had was Z-2, whic was great for the white GTP because Z-2 is great for light colors, but it doesn't do as much for dark colors). It could be better, but it was a lot worse.

Forgive the bad pictures as well, my laptop died so I have no access to photoshop right now, and therefore the only retouching I could do had to be done with photobucket's built in crap.

To give you an idea of what I'm dealing with here...

This was my passenger side door after being clayed but before being polished:

Here it is again after being polished:

Still not anywhere near where I want it to be, but considering the snow is going to start falling soon, I didn't put a whole lot of effort into this detail.

I'm avoiding the front on the car because it has some "bruises" from the previous owner's carelessness and negligence

And a few more with my friend's GTI

I've got more in my photoucket account but these are the ones that look pretty good as they are

Hopefully I'll get some more pictures with different lighting for you guys here in a few days. We will see what the Ohio weather has in store for me though.

it was between my subbie and a 'balt for my new car. i like it.

Thanks Bio. I actually sold one of my motorcylces and sold/demodded my GTP to buy a 04-05 WRX, but I couldn't find anything at the time in my price range. Fall semester was starting up and I needed a car, so I went with the slobalt. I like it, but I still consider selling it and getting a rex sometimes...

there is no way in hell i am selling my bike for a car. besides, i cant sell my bike for the price of a car if i wanted to.

You need some tireshine son.

Other than that looks great. GM's laser blue metallic is amazing.

I'm wishing I hadn't sold the bike now, because I'm getting tired of commuting on my R6. Hopefully in the spring the R6 will sell and I can get something more comfortable (SV 650/1000, FZ1, or a Street/Speed Triple).

I've got 4 or 5 different kinds In the garage. Meant to take it with me and put it on right before I took the pictures but I left it in the garage. Next time.

when it comes to cars 06 and up the balt is my favorite. its power to weight ratio is amazing. its one of those cars where if it was rwd or awd itd be perfect.

Changed my brakes the other day, d/s rotors and hawk HPS pads all around. Painted the calipers blue with duplicolor brush on and the brackets silver with duplicolor spray. They turned out good, but I'm not feeling the silver brackets, I'm thinking of pulling them off again and doing them in black instead. What do you think?

Do it black IMO. I think that just cause your wheels are so big and cover a lot.

i feel that they fit the car very well. im not sure why youd switch to another stock set of wheels, go aftermarket.

I love the 10 spoke/split 5 design. The cobalt has a 5x110 bolt pattern, which is really unusual, there' not a whole lot of aftermarket options out there that look good.

Hey guys,

I've been really busy the past few weeks with school and trying to find a job, and I've run into a whole bunch of problems with this car. The right front wheel bearing went bad but was covered under the powertrain warranty (60K mile warranty, replaced at 58900 miles). The timign chain tensioner is also rattling now. I'm fixing all the problems this car has and hopefully getting rid of it. I have the Cobalt and my R6 up on craigslist right now, I want to get either a STI or an Evo. If it doesn't sell then I guess I'll see how things go and maybe go back to modding it. Anyhow, just wanted to give you all an update.
