Some of you might of seen a few threads I made up asking for some advice.
Im debaiting between buying a 00-03 GTP or 04-05 Grand Prix GT as a new Daily Driver

what do you guys suggest?
Im mostly looking for reliability and comfort

As a DD...I'd take the '04+ cars. Reliability wise...working on a '03 or older car would be cheaper as would insurance yada yada.

Reliability, Id like an 04+ Comp G or a GXP.

But looks wise, which is more important to me, the 97-03 GT/GTP style. The 04+ are very ugly, and the only nice thing about the 04+ are the seats. The rest of the car is gaudy with no body lines.

All the GP interiors are bad (minus the anniversary) and the 04+ seem VERY cheap to be, kinda look like they were pieced together from a box of leftover parts from the buick and saturn lines

Exactly. The interior is one of the cheapest ive seen from GM in a while. (And theres lots of GM cars to choose from!)

you, sir, are full of crap

As long as you know the qwerks to any car.... any car can be reliable. I have gone through several 97-03's.... and absolutely love them.

rmm..wonder what 04+ you been in! I had a 05GTP and now have a 07GT (sc). Comparing them both to the three OTHER grand prix that was a 99,00,and 01 I would say that the 04+ is WAY better when it comes to interior! If your just wanting a DD then of course a newer one would be better..but if your wanting room don't let the 4door trick ya! A 2door 03- has more room then the 04+!

My dad had an 05. Like I said the seats are very comfortable and extremely supportive. I wish I had then in my 01. But the seats are too tall for the 04+ interior (I'm 6'4) and im too cramped inside. Plus there is way too much plastic. The dash is very plain and too tall.

Combine that with no 2 door option, the 04+ is ugly. Like I said the only 04+ I would consider would be a CompG or a GXP.

Again this is my opinion, nobody has to agree with me. :D

well im 5'1:th_nanana: I feel like im HUGE in the 03-. I do like the compact of the 04+ but again I am a whole foot and some change shorter then you! Thats why I always tell people if you think because its 4door it has room your mistaken! It dont!

Being that you have an 03-04 Cobra, I think you would like the GTP better. Has potential and better resale value. It at least has some get up to it. I bought my GTP bone stock like 6 or 7 weeks ago. Now look at my mods! It was supposed to be a stock DD to keep the miles down on my BMW, but........now its a "getting modded" DD. lol I'm addicted to horsepower. I'm stopping here for reliability for now. But its a low 14s, maybe high 13s if I get brave enough to put the pulley on it that is sitting in the garage.
