Alright so here's the deal. I only get like 210 miles PER TANK of gas in my car. That's pitiful. Now yes, I do drive a bit on the fast side so that might have something to do with it, but it wouldn't cause it to lose 100 miles per tank because at 20mpg and a 17.5 gallon gas tank, I should be getting at least 300 miles per tank. So here's what I'm gonna do. I bought some Gumout All in One Fuel System Cleaner to help aid this a bit. I will fill my tank up as far as it can go, reset the trip mileage, average MPG, and gallons used. Then, over the time until that tank of gas is out, I will log all the data from it. So everyday I plan on writing down my mileage, average speed, and report what my DIC says my average MPG is and see if it is correct. I know I cannot beat on my car when I do this test, so grandma driving it is. I'm determined to get to the bottom of why I get sh*tty gas mileage. I know my FPR is going bad, but that shouldn't cause that bad of gas mileage and such. Everyday or couple of days, I will post my data and do a final calculation at the end and see what is happening. Any additional info I need to know will be helpful, but I'm hoping this will give me more insight on what's going on.

fill your tank, when the pump goes click, stop filling it. now set the trip or write down the miles, run that tank of gas low to a 1/4 tank even. then go to the same station, and same pump if you can, and re fill the tank, when the pump goes click, write down the gallons pumped. then do your math.
last time i did that it came out the dic was giving me two extra mpg. math said less mpg.

That's what I'm gonna do. I always go to the same gas station, BP. My DIC isn't very reliable since it's am average. I could drive not he highway for 1 week straight and have the Avg. MPG be like 29, and drive int he city for a month and it would drop down maybe 2 or 3 MPG, which isn't true. So yes, I will be doing all the math to truly figure out my average MPG. And I will do it each day just for extra measure.

So has begun the experiment... Filled the car up until the pump clicked. Didn't go anymore than that. But before I filled up, I added the Gumout All in One Fuel System Cleaner, just to see if it helps. I reset the trip mileage scroll thing, reset the fuel used, and reset the Avg. MPG. Over the course of this experiment, I will be resetting the Avg. MPG each day so it reads each day and doesn't settle out. I will then average out the Avg. MPG.

So when spring comes along, I'm gonna take off my bumper and fix the crack that runs through the bottom splitter part. I'd like to paint it black, but then I would have to paint the bottom insert on the rear bumper black to match, so I guess I'll have to stick to the stock color.

Paint them both black, it'll look good with the silver.

I want to, but I already have an inlay in the rear and I don't want to peel it off just to paint it. And if I try cover it up, I will never be able to get every edge perfect. That's why I want to stick with the grey color. But now that I thought about it, I could paint both ends black and peel off the inlay, and then paint in the PONTIAC with color matched touch up paint. I still need to figure that out. But it will happen in spring.

if your upstream O2 sensor has 50k+ miles on it, its the place to start, 02 sensor skewing is a primary fueling nightmare, being a trusted sensor the pcm is basing all fueling adjustments directly on the 02 sensor
and stay away from bosch

get it hot, and do it hot, and it'll come right out, setup your tooling while cold, but do not try to remove it cold, especially if its quite rusty, once your setup, take for a ride for 5 minutes, crack free. the exhaust will be hot but the engine bay temps shouldnt be too bad/uncomfortable.

you need a 7/8 o2 socket, 12 inches worth of extensions and you get it from the top, the ratchet will be right under the top of the fire wall lip to the cowl.
no real need to pull the engine forward.

Does it create any more working room? Or is the motor not the problem, but the firewall? And how do I change the title of my thread? I tried changing it, but it keeps showing up as "Meatball Sub with Pickles." I went in the advanced settings, but it didn't do anything.
