Engine help

You put the ***** bolt back in? I've never gone through the trouble to reinstall that bolt, luckily neither did the people who replaced the engine in my bonne before I got to it, was so happy to see it was already gone, lol.

Takes under a minute.. why wouldn't you?

I love how most people say green like all green is old green coolant. You guys do know that most Anycolor coolants are green, right?

Dunno why anyone with a car that can take the Anycolor would bother buying anything else when doing a service.

My crapbox.. ohhhh I would need to order coolant for it.
Ok, so at this moment I am going to do the coolant flush.
what do you suggest?

being you dont know what coolant is in there now, flush it to clear water, then add green.

if the coolant is brown and sludgy flush it for sure, its old dex for sure.

Me personally, I buy only Anycolor when working on a 3800. Reason being is unless you pull the knock sensors and flush it for hours on end..you'll never get every single bit out. So Anycolor and a good flush will set you straight no matter what.

It's the original coolant that came with the car.
Bought the car with about 300 miles
OK, I will make sure I wait till clear water comes out
Thanks

once its water you add some prestone flush and drive it around for a day or two this time of year. then flush it out and add coolant.

that will help break up any buggers stuck inside. and 300,000 miles? i sure hope someone flushed it at some point.

I found a prestone flush and cleaner
Can I use that
Took the car for a drive and came back and have not seen any leaks.
It sounds good,

So I drove the car to work and while driving the engine light came on
This are the codes I get
p0069
p0118
p1115
I also noticed that it takes longer for the car to start when its been sitting for a couple hours
But after it gets warmed up it starts right away
Any idea why is doing this?

I got the new temp sensor in but don't have any coolant or the stat in yet
Running on water only
Going to drain the water and add antifreeze tomorrow and put the stat in too
Thanks for the reply
Will get back to you guys tomorrow
Thanks again

So I turned the water hose on and took the hose off the rad and ran the water till it was clear.
Then I shut the water hose off but the water seemed to stop coming out as soon as I turned the water hose off (out the rad hose)
So then I started to fill the rad with antifreeze, but I barely put any in there when it got full
Another thing is that my temperature gauge is way down and it wont move.It moves when I turn the car on but after that it just stays all the way down
I had the car running for about 20 minutes now

the w/p should have pumped the rad dry, once turned off a little falls back into the rad from the engine, you know how water like to find its level.

you can hook the rad hose back up and fill it with coolant while it runs.

your temp sensor wires maybe bad if they got wet during the flush and its acting up. its a little wire harness temp sensor to the lim front.

or you have air trapped in the t stat housing still that needs to be bled out.

Can I remove the temp sensor to look at it and put it back on
I turned the valve on top of the thermostat housing about 4 turned and nothing comes out
