Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What did you do to your Car today?

Soooo... Ive got an 01' GTP I just finished dropping in a 3.4 push on, installed new fog lights(halos) put in a tuned pcm from Reptile and dropped in a new zzp 2.5 dp. I got the car in January with 126500 miles on her and shes only got 129000 now. Ive done so much to this car on top of what I just finished up this week. (Tune up with new plugs and 180* ts, HID halo projectors, 3200W worth of amps and subs, new pair of cv axels, tie rod ends, new pads and rotors all around, new calipers in the front, zzp volt booster, new kenwood reciever with blutooth and more) Heres the thing, I just got orders ( military) and I cant take my car with me and I can park it for the next 3-5 years. I still owe $6k on her and im pissed because I love the car and ive spent the last 6 months fixing her up to what I wanted her to be. (Minus paint, tint, tires and rims). I at a loss of what I should do? I wouldnt want to sell her unless I could get $8-10k for her and im not sure thats gonna happen because mods arent really a selling point except to the right buyer. Ive only been in the community for 6 months now and never even ventured into thinking about selling . What do you guys think? Any recommendations? Im heartbroken atm.

I hate to be that guy but if your still owe $6k on it you've paid entirely to much. Mods don't add value so I wouldn't even factor that into the asking price however I would part the mods out and return in back to stock and sell the mods to make at least some money back. With $129k and being a 10+ year old car I don't see you get more then let's say $3500 for it. How's the rocker and strut tower rust?

What??? That's crazy you owe more than I paid for my 2006

The only rust on the whole car was on the exhaust and the on the brakes for the most part. I bought it with a full maintenance service record showing the condition it was taken care of. Full synthetic and premium its whole life and a box of records showing maintenace. Only a few minor dings in the body as to be expected and the interior was mint. I didnt mind paying for that peace of mind knowing that the engine still has at least double its life left. I had planned on keeping it not selling it like I said. I was planning on having her for another 6-7 years from now and handing it off to my boy fully restored and modded. Its in great condition and a perfect template to start with. These orders got sprung on me way out of my normal window I just dont know what to do.. I know I paid a lot but like I said it was worth the investment in the long run for my son... guess im f****d.

dont they offer free storage for you guys? if so take it, and keep paying it off cause your stuck with it now. when you come home you and the kid got something to work on.

when you come back toss a new set of tires and battery and oil change and drive on.

Nobody mentioned anything about gas? 5 year old gas really sucks, not sure if any fuel stabilizer would keep it good for that long. Some would help.

Yeah but you didn't have that issue with the original channel plate did you?
No, but I have the TCC problem, lol. This new valve body has a whole bunch of Sonnax stuff including a boost valve, and other things to firm up the shifts. I'm thinking the added pressure is just too much for the rest of the trans, and this would have happened with the old VB\CP eventually.

I'm just sick of putting so much work into a 230k trans, I'm going to be pissing up hill no matter what I do.

Oh the tcc problem was still there huh. Must have been the torque converter after all. So it made it to 230k without a rebuild? If only the valve body you bought was just a reman instead of upgrades that increase pressure, shift speed, etc. Still the tcc issue though.

run the tank dry. or fill it to the top. one or the other is best.

Don't leave it empty. Condensation will build up and he will have a tank full of water. Ran into that issue with my Stealth since it has been sitting so long. I drained the tank and put 5 gallons of fresh in to get it started recently.

As I made a note of it in the writeup forum, I decided to shore up my rusty strut tower with some lumber.

We'll see how long it holds

Yeah, I can get next to nothing storage for her but its a shame. Maybe ill just drop the tank and seal her up real good. Itll still save about 60k miles on her and come 2020 she might be worth more with only 130000k haha just kidding. Thanks for the input guys I really appreciate it. Wish I had enough $$ to just run her into the ground having fun.... but that wouldn't be the responsible thing to do would it? Lol

Replaced the flowmaster aka dronemaster on the suburban with a Walker SoundFX and dynomax tailpipe...for 3inch exhaust has great tone with no drone sounds great at idle

Thhe old VB\CP had the TCC problem, the new one doesn't. The new VB\CP shows the 1-2 shift problem. The newer VB\CP is actually a reman. It has VBX engraved on the VB, CP, and on the pressure switch. I believe it was built for the guy who owned it before me, with literally all the same stuff as a TEP valve body, along with a few other things. I called a local transmission shop and I'll be picking up new gaskets, GXP chains, and the Sonnax clamp thing that holds the tubes in the accumulators for ~$45.

Since I'm reusing a lot of this stuff on the new transmission, I basically have the pick of the litter when it comes to the 4T65Es, and the yard I'm going to sells the transmissions with the Torque converters for $117 (including core) and I have a $56 credit there...

I MIGHT be able to get my current transmission to shift right after tearing it apart 4 or 5 more times I MIGHT be able to make it a bit better. At the end of the day it's a 230k transmission, so it's days are numbered. Especially because I'm not done beefing up the engine, I don't have major plans (I\C for the Gen V, smaller pulley, tune, etc), but any more power through this thing is asking for trouble. I don't romp the car by any means, but when I want to racekar, it should racekar.
