• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What did you do to your Car today?

decided its time, trans pan drop. I know I know my trans wants to pop. 114k on stock trans. Shift fine when cool then warms up and feels a little funny. but I if I put it in tap shift works great shifts awesome. Im guessing dirty filter or worse.
That's cause tap shift increases line pressure nothing to do with filtering

yeah, I want to install the cooler a filter, and a kit. just got a lot on my mind and been pushing the car to the side. except for washing it. That stuff gotta get done a couple times a week.

its car wash day for me today, it rained last night and the car got dusty before that, and no rain for days in the forecast. i feel safe putting the time in to washing it this time.

i really need to clean the inside, vac, dash and windows.

yeah I thought the cycle would of ended sooner. Guess maintenance has been done correctly though via records. I'm just weirded out by trans flush around 80k

Only if you are misinformed. Flush isn't bad.. neither is a pan drop. It's people that have trouble, do a flush thinking it'll be magic and then blame it for the final failure.

I get to go transmission hunting at the 2 pick n pulls on Friday. I have to look through my manual to see what years I can swap in. I'm using my valve body after I got through it since it has all the Sonnax stuff, along with the 4th hub. I can still use the differential and the gears, but I'll be buying a V8 chain set either way. That said, I can use a GT transmission, right? I have research to do....

Why are you getting a new trans? Thought the new channel plate fixed the tcc issue.

It did, but the 1-2 shift is getting worse and worse. After talking to Dave (Triple Edge genius), there isn't much I can do. The clutches are sloppy from the factory, and the fact that I have 230,000 miles means they are even more sloppy. On top of that he said that a shift like mine will snap the input shaft, so I'm doing my best to avoid that. I'll be putting the hardened chains, and swapping over everything I've done to the transmission, so it should be pretty solid by the time it's in the car.
