The 3800 is my music...lol kidding. In city traffic there's plenty going on around me to keep me "stimulated" if you will, can't think of a better word. On the freeway its very repetitious and I will listen to the radio then, plus normal freeway traffic is pretty calm and safe compared to rush hour or city traffic. I did install an input jack in my radio that works wonderfully, just don't use it much.
 
Gonna wash it tomorrow, then throw some rust fix on rust bits till I can actually sand it correctly. Anyone ever use the Deeza Outer Tie rods on Rockauto? I would go with moogs but I have no way to put grease in them, if that's even needed. I also need to check to make sure its not the inner tie rods or LCA's ect causing some wandering on the highway, and when I'm turning left or right like around a roundabout I feel a "clunk" in the wheel like the steering has play then hits. Its weird doesn't do it all the time.

Haven't heard of them. The moog tie rod ends usually need greasing, I just got mine a little while ago and they do have fittings, but there is no grease in the boots. They're $31.05 on amazon, with free shipping(when buying 2) if you're interested.

And that looseness doesn't sound good man, it takes pretty loose parts to feel it in a rack and pinion system.
 
Washed mine yesterday, gave the wheels a much needed wipe down. It snowed last night. Car is brown again. Damn curse... Ready for warm weather.

buy a small grease gun, or a large one, they cost about 20 bucks, tubes of grease run about 3 to 5 bucks.
 


Yeah I know, I'm hoping its just tie rods ends but when they went on my dads car they just destroyed the tires. Mine so far seem to be wearing evenly but the front end does seems kinda wandery and wanna follow groves in the road at least I think so. I might end up having to do what you just did and replace everything. Would running tie rod ends without grease in them for a bit hurt them much? I'm moving in a few and I know my grandpa has a grease gun. I need to get the front end jacked up and look for play in suspension parts.

Edit: Might do that Scotty, wouldn't mind adding a tool to my arsenal.
 
I'd jack it up right away and pull on the front tires, there must be a lot of play somewhere. And they won't wear tires much unless the alignment is off too. It could be about to pop loose and not wear the tire one bit. I replace lots of loose tie rod ends where the tires look perfect.
 
Its probably not useful but the guy that did my oil change said they were fine yet i saw him wiggle the tire while on the lift and it had a good amount of play. I'll probably try to find someone around town with a floor jack and some stands tomorrow.
 
Well your intermediate shaft could have play, that wouldn't show play in the tires. I'm replacing all of my suspension parts because I have 3 bad ones, all not a danger but are bad. The rest is because while I'm there, I might as well.

You need to start putting money aside to purchase basic tools will save you a lot of money in the future doing work yourself but I know your situation so I won't give you to much of a hard time right now
 
Well it's called a dry park test, car off key on, wheels on the ground (maybe partially jacked up since GP's are low) and turn the steering wheel back and forth hard but not enough to move the wheels. Look for any part that isn't moving with everything else. This works best on gearbox style systems since there are more joints in the system but will work for rack & pinion styles too.
 
Why thanks :) My grandfather has a nice two car garage with a bunch of tools and stuff from his days working for GM. I'll be their in a few weeks, hopefully then fix this then look for a job again.
