• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Let's just rename this PurpleGuy's GTO tuning endeavor

Re: Marofan's "GTX" Finally dropped on all 4's

There is a company out of florida. But they are like $700 lol

Re: Marofan's "GTX" Finally dropped on all 4's

Don't be a dummy Palm Tree. I'm not spending more on axles than the car is worth

Re: Marofan's "GTX" Finally dropped on all 4's

i never figured out the stupid axle mess. I found the sweet spot where there was minimal vibration, but the boots would always tear and thats how mine kept breaking. Just wondering and bio probably knows, but how do other cars that can go super low not have this problem? Or maybe they do and I don't know

Re: Marofan's "GTX" Finally dropped on all 4's

I'm not having any bad vibrations just driving around. I only get a lot of vibration once I get on it. There's no popping though.

Re: Marofan's "GTX" Finally dropped on all 4's

I'm running the "Tough One" that you get at Advance Auto, been on for about 14k miles, of which 13k were lowered. No vibrations, except on a hard downshift to first (like 35mph+)

Re: Marofan's "GTX" Finally dropped on all 4's

He's got vinne spacers.

I'd just get some napa axles and throw em in. I figure since its not like you put a ton of miles on it, they should last a few years.

Re: Marofan's "GTX" Finally dropped on all 4's

Uuggghhh my Gawd. It's things like this that make me hate my Prix.

Until you see the price tag and the amount of years it's goin to take to actually own. Oh and let's not forget price of replacement parts.

I'll keep my paid of GP

Re: Marofan's "GTX" Finally dropped on all 4's

You're clearly underestimating the rate at which Cadillacs depreciate. You can pick up a V1 for under 15K. 3-4 years a V2 will most likely be in the low 20K range.

Re: Marofan's "GTX" Finally dropped on all 4's

Im dropped just over 2" front and back. Got not quite a fingers width from tire to fender.

Also, Caddy's are nice, but they aren't meant for people wearing DC's

axle bind is always a problem on cars that're really low. but realistically, my axles hit my frame rails before they become an issue. been there, done that.

i've been looking at V1's. i might try and pick one up later this year. i wouldn't be picking up one that has 110k miles for $12k, though. i'm hoping to score an 07 with less than 70k miles on it.

Shoes dictate what kind of car you can drive? Well I already ****ed that up with my first Cadillac.

I know we own one (not a ctsv) Lighten up take a joke guy!
What model you have?

Right. I wouldn't want one of those either. Id rather spend the extra coin and get something clean and nice. I'm hoping 3-4 years I can afford a V2.

Re: Marofan's "GTX" Finally dropped on all 4's

i figure i'll just DD it for a few years until i can buy another car to DD and then i'll mod up the V and have that as my second fun car.

Re: Marofan's "GTX" Finally dropped on all 4's

I'm not 100% sure what I want. V1's are nice but the interior is too bland for me. I like the STS-V's but they have the same issue. Bland interior. The V2's have a very nice interior IMO. But they're spendy. I've been lookin at the D3 Audi A8's as they're reasonably priced. But they're so uncommon around here that I can't actually go and look at one. And we don't have an Audi dealership either. I've seen a couple around town and love them. From pics I've seen I love the interior. Idk. But within a few years I'll be getting a new car.

Re: Marofan's "GTX" Finally dropped on all 4's

I agree about the V1 cts-v's interior. It's awful. Really everything about the first gen cts just sucks. The V model is the only bearable one IMO, even then they don't look that good and the interior sucks.

The STS has a much better interior(and options). But I wouldn't trust a supercharged northstar. Granted I don't know much about that engine, but just the thought is scary.

Be careful with an A8, maintenance on an $80k car is not fun.

And maintenance is a big reason why audis have such low resale value compared to BMW/Mercedes
