• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What did you do to your Car today?

Yeah, I ran 180 for the whole summer without a tune, and never went over 203°F, but I didn't do much sitting or slow traffic though. I wanted to go higher than 180 for winter because in the winter, the temp usually stays only 5° higher than t-stat temp rating. So the 180 t-stat would run me 195° in the summer, and 185° in the winter, which is too cold for me. I prefer it to be right at 195° or close, so since it's always 5° higher than t-stat temps in the winter, I'm going to use a 192° t-stat to put me close.

195° t-stat, no tune
Winter ....... Summer
198° - 200° 200° - 206

180° t-stat, no tune
Winter ....... Summer
184° - 187° 192° - 200°

192° t-stat
We'll see. Hopefully where the 180° puts me in the summer. Then I'd be happy.

And I doubt you ever will because of it, we just like over thinking things lol. A 160 and I'd be concerned, but a 180 is pretty much fine. I do short trips and my engine builds up lots of condensation, so I can't have it running too low, I need to burn the water off. I think it's partly due to a bad pcv design.

Got the new GTP all washed up, then took the nice tail lights off the black one and put them on the blue one and then took the ones from the blue one and tinted them and put them on the black one.

They still need sanded and cleared and what not but they look pretty sharp. Also managed to install the roof rails on the black one but I don't have any pictures of course.

Then after all that fun I started screwing around and trying to resurrect my sisters impala. Which has a long way to go yet, I'll have to start taking before and after pictures for my own personal records.

Tried replacing the clutch bearings in the air compressor yesterday. Got the whole thing apart, pressed off the clutch with two pairs of vise grips, and realized that there's no way in Hell I can get that bearing out. Gave it up as a bad job and bought a new compressor and condenser instead. Good news is O'Reilly's had remanufactured ones on sale for $134.99.

Here's how I have to cool the block off after driving so I can work in there:

You just need to carry a box fan in your car lol. Its a good thing we had those fans in the garage though, it gave us something to laugh about.

Gonna pick up a new battery for masami tomorrow, the rack and pinion went out on the taurus so thats getting repaired, i have my in-laws spare vehicle which has been sitting all summer so found out theres a small colony of brown recluse living somewhere in the car, appears to be either in the cowl or in the engine bay somewhere, saw four or five of the ****ers on the windshield last night, got two this morning with raid wasp killer.... hopefully the rest will surface tonight while im at work, not parking it in the garage until i know they're gone

Did you look on the bottom to make sure there is one that says LH (left hand) and RH (right hand). Just saying, people put them on backazzward all the time. Or they have two RH etc...

I got one of each (rh&lh) and they are on the correct side but the right hand side one is too thick to fit inside track . The left hand side one fits perfect....I think ima have to trim some far off lol
