Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Took my 04 to the dyno yesterday

Local auto club had a dyno day yesterday...$50 for 3 pulls, so I can't argue with that.

My 01 is having issues, so I took my daily, the 04 Comp G. Total mods:

Heads ported by me
XPZ cam
150# Manley springs
Rollmaster double
Pushrods
Comp TI retainers
ARP Head Studs
Victor-Reinz stock style head gaskets
L26 bottom end
3" catless downpipe
Autolite 605's
Homemade HAI
Tuned by me
89 Octane E10 fuel

Everything else is completely stock. Stock pulley. Stock exhaust manifolds, stock injectors, etc. I also made my first run using the stock airbox, and then pulled that off and switched to my pile of junk Advanced Auto intake.

Any guesses what I made? It's not your typical setup, so I thought we'd have a little fun this Monday morning.

Runs were made on a Mustang Dyno, FYI.

High comp...race fuel...cam...but stock pulley kills it...understand though for the daily. did you switch out for straight pipes on 2nd or 3rd run for max race gains?

:)

Otherwise...

I'd say 285/310?

So basically it's a head XPZ car with everything else stock? maybe 250 especially with the 89 holding timing back.

let me get this straight cammed car with home ported heads and just a 3inch down pipe on stock pulley?
Why not at least cheapo SD headers at the very least. You say its a daily driver fine I get it but I'd still think some SD's would be money well spent!!
XPZ cam and the rest of the mods make me think "breathe in choke out!"

god dammit this forum is brainwashed as hell.

no one needs headers, downpipes are just fine. and you can run 89 all day long on a heads/cam setup with minimal boost.

yea i dont see an issue with it. i got stock everything besides turbo and intercooler, dynoed last week at 294whp and 380tq

Chill out spaz did I say its mandatory to run headers? I love how your assuming this..............

Nor did I say there is anything wrong with the setup, however let me rephrase a portion of post #10
"Seems like some simple mods would make the most of that cam"

^ maybe if I post it twice you'll get it..........

Headers wouldn't do a thing for the car. Plus, I'm not going to put headers on a car that I drive ~30k miles a year. Learned that one that hard way.

The big restriction right now, are the stock injectors. They are at 100% DC at 5100 RPM's.

Putting a headers on it matters how when you drive 30k a year?
Its already cammed wouldnt that have a much bigger effect of it being a DD rather than bolt on headers?
Im not saying you should throw them on (tho I wonder why not.) And Im sure the not having headers helps the TQ but if you do anykind of highway or interstate driving wouldnt the headers help?

Just some questions and would you drop the pulley size down a little if the injector issue was addressed?

Disclaimer Im not saying down sizing the pulley would increase the hp just incase some mods throw a fit for the above comment......

Because headers always require maintenance. They will develop leaks due to all the different fitment issues they have. Stock manifolds....well.....they don't leak. I will never have to mess with them again.

Headers would make very little difference in the torque this car makes.

I don't see how camming is has an effect on daily driving it. I guess the rollmaster makes it idle rougher, but unless you are very familiar with these motors, you won't notice. Most people there were wondering how a stock grand prix could make these kind of numbers.

When I get some bigger injectors, I will probably drop to a smaller pulley.

I've had headers on my 01 for about 3 years now.. No leaks, cracks, or whatever. I think it all depends on the quality of the headers.
