Not surprising that you pulled you over for that. IIRC green is for something EMT related. Ill see if I can dig something up.


Meanwhile colors are cool and all but if your wanting to avoid the hassle every time you step on the road. I would suggest forgetting the cool factor and sticking to white or amber.

I thought in Wisconsin EMT was straight up Red. I wont even have them on anymore. I never bought them for the halo rings anyway. lol. That was just a bonus. Well at the beginning a bonus.

That's cool. In oklahoma we have to have amber corner lights.

I wonder what he thinks on the laws of HID's at 8000k+, those are legal, but not white anymore.

Funny how wording is, you should have made him show you where it states that. I pulled that once, told him to show me the law, he said "I don't carry a law book." So I probed the question, "how do you prove them?" He said I remember the laws, so I asked, "What is the section number so I can look it up, write that down for me if you remember them" He couldn't so I called him on not knowing the laws, therefore not being able to enforce the laws, and he let me go with a warning. So I printed the law which states the same you said, only restrictions are red and blue flashing lights, kept it in the car. Lots of sad popo faces when I pulled it with my insurance card.

Well I was going to ask about the amber colored turn signals on the front of ever single car and ask if that was technically illegal then but I didnt want to sound like a smarta$$ and get a ticket. Someone else suggested printing off the law and showing it if I get pulled over again. The other thing that makes me think it is a gray area is that I have driven past 5+ cops at night on main street with the green halos on and no one else around so that would have been ideal to pull me over and they didn't.


And with HIDs I thought I heard something about any sort of headlight modifications were illegal. Therefor if HIDs werent stock theyd be illegal I guess.

yeah, white or amber, same rules everywhere from what i understand.

just call the DOT and ask them, that will be 3 hrs well wasted.

around here its white or amber up front only, and only red on the rear. seems to be the law everywhere. no unglow lights either here.

Well then I don't know where I thought I read what I did. Fully aware that underglow is a no no. I must have dreampt it or something. lol

Wisconsin Legislature: 347.25(2)

347.17  Color of clearance and marker lamps and reflectors. Whenever a vehicle is equipped with clearance lamps, sidemarker lamps or reflectors:(1) Those clearance and marker lamps and reflectors mounted on the front or on the side near the front of the vehicle shall display or reflect an amber color;
(2) Those clearance lamps and marker lamps and reflectors mounted on the rear or on the sides near the rear of the vehicle, or on both, shall display or reflect a red color.

I did find this one interesting tho. Consider the arguement that our "fog" lights, are spot lights. They have internal reflectors to reduce glare and stop the lamp from beaming light out past 150 ft.

347.26  Restrictions on certain optional lighting equipment.
2) Spotlamps.(a) Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than 2 spotlamps.
(b) No spotlamp shall be used as a substitute for headlamps. No spotlamp shall be used as an auxiliary driving light on any motor vehicle except when such spotlamp is set or adjusted so that the rays of light are projected directly upon the road surface at a distance not exceeding 150 feet directly in front of the vehicle and to the right of the center of the traveled roadway. No spotlamp shall project any glaring light into the eyes of an approaching driver.

Ive also seen the one that says that foglights are only to be used in inclimate weather and you can have no more than four lights on at a time.

Well I found this in the link TLSheff posted.

347.07 Special restrictions on lamps and the use thereof.347.07(1)(1) Whenever a motor vehicle equipped with headlamps also is equipped with any adverse weather lamps, spotlamps or auxiliary lamps, or with any other lamp on the front thereof projecting a beam of intensity greater than 300 candlepower, not more than a total of 4 of any such lamps or combinations thereof on the front of the vehicle shall be lighted at any one time when such vehicle is upon a highway.
347.07(2)(2) Except as otherwise expressly authorized or required by this chapter, no person shall operate any vehicle or equipment on a highway which has displayed thereon:
347.07(2)(a)(a) Any color of light other than white or amber visible from directly in front; or
347.07(2)(b)(b) Any color of light other than red on the rear; or
347.07(2)(c)(c) Any flashing light.

UPDATE:
Most likely will be putting the Bullitts back on this weekend! Even though the snow is not all gone I dont think there will be anymore accumulating snow fall. Pics to come in the next week or so.

Well its not exactly spring with all the snow gone but I was itching to get my wheels back on so I said screw waiting for the snow to melt. Last I heard there was close to 3ft of ice on the lake yet and I saw a truck driving across the lake. I couldnt wait. lol. x2 It kinda reminds me of party lights that people outline their camper with.

Your car is such a nice color though, and I really like the black accents especially for the mirrors. They're nice and subtle vs the route sometimes taken where every trim piece is painted a really bright opposing color. Looks good man!

The LEDs look more purple because of the black I think. That makes me sad but I prefer the LEDs over the DRLs and I didnt feel like being completely illegal. lol. Thanks for the compliements!

Who really gets pulled over for not having DRL unless you live in Canada-land. Led aren't my favorite but the rest of the car looks great. I'm glad you got rid of all the plasti dip stuff :)



So you plan on tinting your windows
