Should lock that guy up. Flipping cars used to mean buying grandma mobiles with blown head gaskets or some dumb kid who can't afford a mechanic, doing the repairs for cost, and then selling the fixed car at market price. These people nowadays aren't flippers, they're inflators.
I drove an hour and a half to look at an 04 Comp G for $2600. I give the guy full price, he hands it back and says the guy on his phone is on his way and will pay $300 extra to hold the car. I see that same exact car- year, make/model, color, comp g, mileage, everything- for $5000 2 days later on Craigslist. I called the guy and he admitted he didn't touch it, he's just "selling it for a friend."
Then my buddy sells his truck for 6000 and sees it on Craigslist by the end of the week for 8000. At least that dude apologized when he called and told him that floating the title is illegal and he's a lying piece of !#&$.
If you didn't fix anything, and you didn't change the oil, and you know nothing about the maintenance history, don't lie and say you do. That's a really dirty life to live.
