• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

XP/VS/S1X cam's

The VS cam is the best dd cam hands down in my opinion. 90# valve springs and you can go all out on mods with it. No need to rev it above 6000 and stress your crank. Power gains are more noticeable than an xp cam with light mods on both grinds. Once you get into intercooling, bigger throttle bodies and heavy tuning is when the xp/s1x start to show greater power. And this is only when you raise the shift points into dangerous territory depending on how well your rotating assembly happens to be balanced from the factory. Not to mention the stress of the 130# springs you will need to take advantage of an xp. Just my 1million dollars and .02

Haha thanks for the input orange. I decided to get the VS. prolly the easiest one on the car and best for daily driving in the streets. Now will 105# springs be fine? I want the best springs to run with the vs and relieve 105's are the highest?

Ls6. 105's will work fine. Ls6's have better seat pressure and loosen up high in the rpms making you a little more power. Plus they are much more durable than the1O5's from what I've seen.

Not sure what you mean by "better seat pressure", but 105's will have greater pressure with the valve closed at 1.8" install height. The LS6 spring pressure increases more than the 105's as the valve starts to open.

Which in dumb terms means the LS6 spring is going to eat up the stock dampner you're putting in there...faster.

Mine was gone in about 40~k.

Which is why we suggest the 105's.

i just did a rebuild with a xp cam 3.4 pulley etc and swaping into a 95 gtp love pre gens but i was wondering how is the xp cam and wanted to kbow how much will i gain from the cam alone ?

I said it backwards but gtpower is correct. 105's are easier on a stock damper, but 90's are so nice to the stock damper that it doean't really matter. The reliability of the spring itself should be considered first imho at a stage 1 cam level. A lumpy idle will beat up your damper worse than anything. I've seen guys run 130 springs on stock chain/ damper setups with raised idle (900-1000) and the damper be just fine for years. 105 or 90- whatever you chose will be fine. I believe the 90's are a more reliable spring especially with rpm. I ran 570 lift on 90's and they wouldn't float till after 6000

The VS is what you will want. Low-end power is great. It makes decent top-end power too. Usually enough to run mid 13's on street tires and pump gas, depending on your elevation.

vs cam is my personal choice. and if done right can get u well in the 12s. its a great cam lots of power up to 120mph or so. well atleast with my set up and conservative tune.
