well i have received everthing for my cam install.... XP cam, modified retainers, double rollermaster timing chain, 705 push rods, 875 lifters, 4 lay head gasket, valve cover, intake and supercharger gaskets and arp head studs. Before i pull my motor to start the build am i missing anything? or something that i should buy because a part normally breaks coming out... like those plastic coolant elbows.

thanks guys:th_peaceout:

just use felpros for head gaskets. they are 16 dollars a piece at autozone. stock lifters work the best.

they now make aluminum coolant elbows....dorman is the manufacturer...aaaand im also gonna suggest new front cover gasket

Im guessing your going to pull the motor and while you have it out change the oil pan gasket
If you going to spend the time and money on the double chain DONT do the machined cover or double gasket spend the little extra (Cost me $30) To have the chafer of the crank grear milled. I spun a rod bearing on my motor so i had to sawp all my parts to a new block and i had about 2-3K on for mileage and i had no wear marks anywhere on the cover or anything.

Assembly Lube I know its common sense but just a reminder
Get reuseable rocker bolts
Depending on your milage get a new oil pump Like $40 from O'Reillys
Switch to Green coolant if you already havent (Make sure to flush Heater core and Rad)
You can get the GM gasket set (Includes Alluminum LIM gaskets, Valve Cover Gaskets, Head Gaskets) for like $119. I always use copper spray on my head gaskets
Get a set of Headers if you dont have any.
Also do you have someone to tune the car?

I got 130 springs. Zzp told me I could remove the balance shaft gear and the double timing chain would fit. I will order a new front cover gasket tomorrow. There is a place in the next town over that tunes cars so I'm going to see if they have experience with the 3800.

Removing the balance shaft has nothing to do with the double roller fitting where it matters.

The crank gear needs to be machined and chamfered to match stock.

lol lifters.

those things are apparently pretty damn noisy.

run ls7s.

ZZP *****ed about the JP chains yet won't tell you their rollmaster sets also dont fit properly.

How honest of them.

To run the double roller yeah.

And you have to drill and tap the oil port that lubes the balance shaft and block it off...to do it right that is.
