wtf is going on with this thing

so an issue came up today that i have no idea what it is. i have an 06 grand prix se with dual climate control options. tonight while driving at night i realized my door lock and window switches arent lighting up along with my traction control button, and my climate control area which im not sure if it lights up anymore than it is now(both numbers light up) ive looked at the fuses on the passenger side dash panel and the underhood fuses and i cant figure this out ive been on the computer for about an hour searching and about 2 hours in the car and im lost please help me
 


it happened after i showed off my stereo system to my moms friend and it happened after that i think. what connections should i check?

also mechman im not sure what your trying to say but im not looking for sarcasm if thats what it is.
 
No sarcasm. But notice I mentioned the modified electrics. Then notice you mentioned the problem came about after demonstrating said electrics.
 
okay sorry then didnt mean to jump your a** i just hate being the *noob* on a forum even though im a mod on another for my other car its frustrating haha. but ive been reading around and im going to rip my center console out tomorrow first to see if maybe something rattled loose. my gear selector strip is out, door lock and window buttons, trac control button, all the hvac controls and heated seats except the digital numbers,and my steering wheel controls so hopefully one of those things is just unplugged because all the functions still work fine theyre just not lit and it sucks when i need them at night. thanks tho for the info
 


No to worry. Just trying to suggest that previous electrical work may possibly be the culprit. Hard to diagnose wires over the web.
 
My dads 06 had to have the shifter panel light and hvac lights replaced.
Don't know how much it cost.. It didnt bother him that much but It was at the very end of his extended warranty and he didn't have anything else to get fixed haha
