• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Won't start after cam install

I ordered LS7 lifters. I have to take everything apart anyway. Might as well replace them. I'm pretty confident this is my problem. If not, oh well, it's only $160.

Soak the lifters in oil as long as you can before using them. Overnight is preferred.

Use a little assembly lube on the ends of the lifters, rods and rockers.

when you pull the covers, check for oil. If a cam bearing spun or something else and ou aren't getting oil, the lifter can't pump the oil it's not getting.

Pulled the lower intake manifold off, and all I can say is...

Holy sh*t...

They are destroyed! How could this have happened? I'm thinking maybe this happened when my harmonic balancer was on wrong, and it turned over very poorly? I'm shocked how mangled they are.

My lifters, on the other hand, don't look too bad...

Any suggestions or opinions are greatly appreciated.

yeah I remember you saying that now, I would still pull the head, and check every thing out.

I just don't want to buy anymore gaskets/bolts lol. I'm a broke student, and my work just closed down for renovations. Gahhh. :(

I know for a fact my timing marks were always lined up. Because even after pulling the balancer off the first time (when it was on wrong), the marks were still correct.

If it messed up my pistons, and valves, along with my pushrods, my car probably wouldn't even run at all. Right?
