will this be enough mods?

19GTP99

I have a 99 GTP which is pretty much stock. I have NGK TR55 plugs with NGK Wires. My supercharger pulley is banged up on one side due to previous owners mechanic when changing the seal in the supercharger.

So I need to change the pulley and was thinking on going down to a 3.4". This is what I was planning on doing as well, let me know if this is enough.

K&N drop in intake filter (don't really wanna change the stock set-up)
180 thermostat
New Goodyear Gator belt
Intense PCM
Autolite 104 plugs
U-bend delete if I have to
and obviously the 3.4" pulley

With that being said, is that enough to run a 3.4" pulley? It's only my summer car as I live in Ontario and store her for the winter.

Thanks Guys!

Re: will this be enough monds?

^^x2 and that list is no where near enough for that pulley...

do this....
3.4
tune
headers
tr6 ngk plugs
and get rid of the stock intake esp. if you have the double 90* one

Re: will this be enough monds?

really...reason why i ask is because when you go to intesnse racing's website, there level 1 performance kit includes the 3.4" pulley, thermostat, pcm, belt, plugs and cai intake. so according to their site it should be good. why would they say that then?

thanks

It's cheap to mod a car that way. The exhaust mods are expensive. A set of good headers alone cost as much as all those mods put together. Maybe they just want to sell parts? I don't know. But from what I've learned, you need headers and dp on top of those mods to run a 3.4. That's why my 3.4 is still in the box! waiting on exhaust mods! LOL

You can run a 3.4 with that setup, it will most likely have knock. You might be able to get away with it for a while, but it will eventually hurt the car.

If you got the money, buy headers and a full exhaust kit and you'll be fine running a 3.4 (And cai, plugs, ect)

FLOW MODZZZZZZ.

All those sites tell you is what they want you to run...it isn't safe. Go read that thread I wrote. THEN...come back with questions.

Well I guess I will order a stock pulley then. I was looking forward to a little more power, but I will take all of your advice. I will do the 180 thermostat, drop in air filter, Intense pcm and autolite 104 plugs for now. I need to buy a winter car so I don't have the money to buy headers and an exhaust system unfortunately. Should I take out the U-bend anyway, or leave it alone? I appreciate all the help guys.

This is the write-up that bluegtp91 is referring to that he wrote. Lots of good info! I got it bookmarked.lol

i put on dp with high flow cat, glass pack in place of resonator, cai. autolite colder plugs. 93 octane, 180 thermostat, runs like a scalded dog. surprised me.( i have a 3800 perf ecm and modular 3.4 pully in trunk) due to all the good advice on this forum i am going to make sure before going furthur, read up as much as you can, dont blow your engine with kr. thanks to all forum members who have been through this the painful way for all their advice. dont rush it, i;m kicking arse now and lovin it.

You can get a set of headers for $350 or so new, if you gut out the airbox with the K&N it's a good start, and the rest of the stuff you have listed will let you run a 3.4" pulley.

Also these stage X kits that sites list are never correct really for what you really have to properly run for a given setup.

And honestly, if u slapped that pulley on their, it would probably make ur car run worse. Honestly, its not the most important thing bro. Just a little at a time. That's what I did. And if u can't afford headers look into a plog setup from zzp
