Will comp g trans work in my 05 gtp

Got a 05 gtp plain without paddle shift, and I found a 05 comp g trans for $200 out of a 04 or 05 gtp. Other than a tune would I need anything else? I just mainly want the 3.29 gears and not to mention the trans has only 60k miles on it 25k less miles than mine.

I don't think so as the valve body is different as well IIRC.

It will not be a direct swap.

Gearing, valve body, paddle shift stuff would all be different. I don't think even a tune can work around not having the tap shift option. But I never dug super far into such a swap to read up on it.

Mebbe just grab a non hd from an 04 na monte ss?

Non sure if it would work but can you just get the gears from an n/a car and put them in your tranny? I'm not sure if they just change over but I'm sure someone on here can tell you

You can make it work, but it's not easy.

You need to removed the Valve Body, Channel Plate, and 4th gear clutches from your current trans, and swap them into the CompG Trans. Then you can tune for the 3.29 gears.

I'm currently running a trans modded like this in my 04 GT for over a year with no issues.

You only have 85k on your trans for all the work you'll have to do I wouldn't bother. 3.29s aren't anything to special.
