• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Why do I still like this car?

I mean, this car looks beautiful. It's basically a monte but better. Long two door with a supercharged v6, dual exhaust, heated seats, HUD, DIC, it's all just enough for the buck. And the fact such a big ass car can haul so much ass is just fun, cause you know when you put your foot on it nobody was expecting it.

- Wbodies are rather cheap to modify...have you ever checked what it cost to modify other platforms rather its in performance or aesthetics (folks complain about paying $200 for led tails of $70 for replacement headlights on 17 year car) (check what replacements lamps cost for most other cars) 500+ range.

-The 3800 is a work horse when promptly maintained its no issues racking up 250k. Now trans is a different store

-Repairs are rather cheap and can easily be done in a driveway by the everyday Joe no special tools needed 98% of the time.

- I don't c many modded locally other then big rims etc.

-Parts and motors easily available.

-I can ride rather in comfort and still have some get up when I like.

-Most affordable modern cars really don't impress me. I often compare what feature I have and what I paid to there's and come out on top.

I'm curious to find out if anyone else has found themselves in a situation like me: spending another Saturday fixing the latest thing to die only to wonder if "it's time
I don't have to fix mine very often (it's only got 178k miles on it) and there's not much out there right now that appeals to me without a car payment and giving something up. My GTP has 270 HP, give or take, and gets 34 mpg highway/27.5 mpg combined. It stops on a dime (F body brakes w/stainless lines), handles decent (GMPP suspension, KYB AGX struts), and is PAID FOR. I'd like a CTS-V wagon or an Audi S6 but don't want the payment or overhead it would bring (higher plates and insurance). I'd also lose my "sleeper" status that my silver GTP has and probably get pulled over more often since I treat speed limits as suggestions rather than the law.

I traded a 90 LX(notch) stang 5.0/ 5 speed for my GTP, Yes the stang sounded AWESOME and it was a fun car, but my GTP is faster then it was, more comfy, more ROOM, cheap to fix/ mod. Well the stang was cheap to mod also. At the end of the day it comes down to what you like, no other opinions matter. Also my wife and kids like riding in the GP compared to the stang.

Yeah the thing is it's a nice comfortable car that is also cheap to modify and has plenty get up and go. Im not autocrosser so I dont really need great handling/rwd, and Id rather have FWD for snow and rain. Heated seats are great and it's a huge car and is a two door. Cheap to get it into low 14's, around or under 500 i think. Love the looks and its cheap. :D
