• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

why do i keep going through motors like candy?

Yes but those are even still twice the price around me . I'm just pay the extra money so I can et one I know runs

Oh trust me I'm looking . Craigslist. Car-part. Junk yards. Morad. Any other insightful tips on where to look?

I'm hoping its just a string of bad luck and not something I have been doing because ill really kick myself in the but if it could have been prevented . Twice ...
Exact same thing happened to me, TWICE! On the second build, I used a zinc additive with the engine oil, but that didn't help either. After 2-300 miles came the knock-knock...
These engines are very sensative. I'm on Engine 3 now and finally made it over 500 miles without any issues! Your not alone man...

So what makes these engines so touchy. What do they not like ?

Any contaminated oil .
Kr
... What else ?

They don't like the bottom end touched without machining everything before it's put back together.

^ exactly! Don't even swipe your finger across the top of a piston :)

In all seriousness, They are very ehh, 'picky' motors. The slightest mistake is usually catastrophic!

I give all credit to BillBoost, after flooding his inbox for a few days, he gave me the advice I needed to continue... Thanks Bill :th_thumbsup-wink:

Guess who found a motor for 350 bucks :) this guy !! I'm ready to give it another shot . Lets see if I can get this one to last

A private seller about 180 mile out from me . It's in a regal that got rear ended . Should be picking it up Sunday if he gets it pulled

Did you give your motor break in time after rebuild? I drove it nicely for 2k before any wot and oil change after the 2k
