whining/screechy/annoying noise

So recently there has been a whining type noise (not supercharger) that is happening in my 99 gtp. It is happening from about 700-1500rpm usually... my brother first thought it was a bearing on the engine or. Pulley. Father thought fuel pump. But I narrowed it down to mainly from drivers front.

Any suggestions? Thanks.:)

you can try removing the belts to see if it stops. then you know its a pulley.

does the noise rise up and down with the engine rpm's? if its loudest on the driver side it could be a transmission pump going bad. lets hope for a pulley.

and does it do this parked, driving or both?

check your fluid. if its all brown and cooked up,(use a white paper towel to wipe off the stick) take it to a shop and see what they say. unless you rebuild transmissions. most of us dont.

It doesn't seem as though it is a belt. It is coming from the driver's side where no belts are located. I could be incorrect though. And I can check the fluid (hopefully tomorrow, before it gets too far out of hand).

And no, I do not rebuild transmissions, unless it is the real ancient kind that are for RWD. hahaha. And even then, it's more like ----rigging it, not rebuilding.

I just checked the fluid. The "fluid" itself, I THINK looks okay. I'm not sure though, I do not think this black stuff came from the fluid, I think it was from the metal of the dipstick. Perhaps you tell me your guess! Pictures below.

have you checked your power steering fluid? i remember my car was "whining" once and i just needed some power steering fluid.

Okay after taking forever to find the da-- power steering pump reservoir in the 110 degree heat here in AZ, I can't get it off because the car is too hot.. I will check it after the engine cools. And I will check around to see about how much it costs for ATF change.

Aside from that, I noticed there is a clicking noise now, and I see that every time the belt goes around it is in the same spot where one of the tensioners clicks like gives a little slack and then pops back. How could I correct that?

My car is going downhill! AHHHH. :(

That sound would get louder when he was turning at low speeds, especially when turning the wheel with the car stopped. So I would doubt it was that, unless he notices that.
