Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

which gasoline brand is better?

It may sound weird, but I get better gas mileage with shell..... I've tested several times, and I seem to get 1 or 2mpgs better

Shell used to advertise that you could go further on a tank of their gas. I didnt believe them until I was on a trip to Florida (different vehicle) and I tried two tanks with another brand and then a tank of Shell and I got better mpg out of Shell than any of the others.

And as you can imagine, its a long trip with lots and lots of time at cruising speed, and alot of that was on I-10.

I use vpower in the GP's, I used mobil in my old passat(liked it better), and I use vpower, as well as lucas additive in my GT..and it love the combo.

I use to use the lucas additive. Where I live now, there is no shell near me, no sunoco, no amoco, My choices are exxon, texaco, and speedway. I do have a speedway near me in SC that offers 100 octane. I have been using texaco since living here

Bp Or wal-mart stations cause they both down here have 3 cents off when cash is used and wal mart adds enathonal sp? which helps my na 3.1 idle smoother and burns cleaner

Oh yea shell took out a fuel pump i dunno how but i ran 20 bucks of shell through and 20 minutes later i left the station and the car was pulling timming trying to dump more fuel cause the pump was dying

^^^I really doubt the gas had anything to do with that.

Shell in my car almost 90% of the time. Other cars get whatever is available, closest..etc.
Shell and QT near my house are the same price on everything expect for the Premium, however as mentioned QT is 91 versus Shells 93.

Sounds like a coincidence.

Just like, XXX garage blew up my engine. My car has 200k+ miles on it, and I haven't changed the oil in the last 3 years. And I race everywhere I go. I take it to the garage to have new tires put on it, and the engine blows up. Those guys are crooks!!!

Yeah, sometimes things happen that don't have any relation to one another.

I have always been a fan of shell or philips 66.
When i had my gtp even when my car was fully moded out w/ intercooler. I would see spikes of 0-2kr when i was using shell/66. Started to use QT gas kr went to 5-7kr. thought it was a bad tank of gas went another tank same thing. Moved back to shell started to drop again. On 2nd tank i was back to 0-2kr.

I will still use QT if i am going on long trips at that point i am not having fun and i can get my soda and other snacks there.

do any of you oklahoma guys know if we can get 93 anywhere near tulsa? One thing i hate about this state is it is 91 everywhere you go. Cross any border and you can get 93.

okc used to have a pump that had 101.
Kent we can make our own 93+
I used to do it all the time made it in 5 gallon jugs

IMO all gas around here (OK) is ****. Coming from a guy who has scanned his car from years, all 91 is crap around here. We used to have a few stations w/ 93 near me. They all got rid of it and I had to retune the car because of KR when I was non-intercooled. On a minor bolt on car I noticed a big difference. I can only imagine how my car would feel now being Intercooled w/ 93 octane, its only a dream for me.

I've thought about mixing my own 93 but I really don't want to dick with it. I only want to run something I can get out of the pump.

And yes, on NW 63rd and Western you can get 101 unleaded at the pump. I think its $5.00+ a gallon nowadays (I know someone who buys alot of it for his 4-wheelers). That station is 20-30 miles away from me unfortuneitly. I've ran a little bit of it before to clean it out. Thats been a long time ago and I think back then I paid $3.60 a gallon. Prices have gone up.

Hey Chris, how did you mix your own batch of 93 octane? I may get curious one day and try it out for ****s and giggles...

IK this thread is dead but i figured it would b interesting to bring it back and see what people are using these days... I use Valero gas. i have a n/a but i run 93 and man does American gas make a difference. i average about 23.9 mpg city. good for a 3.8. highway, i have no clue. don't use it for ****. shell and pride, i get 19.7. screw that. btw, pride does not filter their gas so if u wanna change ur fuel filter earlier, buy their crap.

I'm not sure why this was zombie threaded...

The best gas is whatever burns best for your car. I bet "HighOctaneRacing" unless your car is fully built, you don't need that 93 octane. Its all mental.

Certain stations around here have 93 octane, others have 91 e10. Every station is different as far as that goes. Besides that the fuel and the process made to produce it is the same company to company.

There are regulations for the quality of gas.

EXACTLY.

Higher octane does NOT clean out the system. 93 is no cleaner than 87 at the same station. Octane does not add power, octane prevents knock and nothing else.

I've been wondering, I sometimes fill up at a known grocery store (Zehrs) and you get 10 cents/liter that can be used at the store. I use 91, so I should be safe, even though Im not using a "name" brand?
