Wheel spacer help

Alright I want to pick up some wheels that are 18 x 8.5. The only problem with this is that the offset on these is +55 which is stupid high.

My question is, if I get these wheels, what size spacer do I need to run to not rub and be flush or close to it?
 


Why not just get the wheels with the right offset to begin with? I am not and never will be a fan of spacers. The most anyone should ever run, and only if it is absolutely necessary, is 5mm. Anything over that is too much.
 
My 9" wheels are getting a 10mm spacer to push them out to +30mm with longer studs. You may want to run something like that.

So they are something like a +40mm right now? So if I am thinking right, to get mine to a +35, where I want to be I would have to get a 20mm spacer?

Something like that. At that thickness there aren't really any wheel studs long enough to run that for our cars, you'd have to go with a hub adapter running something that thick. I'd get hubcentric spacers though.

I never understood how running a wheel spacer is any worse than getting a wheel that is the offset that you want, all you would be doing is the same thing as getting a wheel of that offset the person wants.
 
spacers won't cause any issued when done correcty. you will need longer studs with anything over 10mm though.
