whats your take on 2012

personally I think its just some more of the Y2K BS. But what if its not?
me well I think that it will be a reason for the general public to fall into mass hystria. That is why I have started to arm myself and fortify my cellar.
So what is your take on the Mian calander,(world as we know it will end in a cataclysmic event).
I still think its over hyped.
 


Me too, I think its all BS. World ain't gonna end, and if it does, how are you going to stop it? You can't.

Yeah. I've heard from sources that if you look into astrology, the date has to do with the alignment of the planets or something and the date is when we transition into another "era" (Taurus I believe) or something like that.... maybe... and somewhere along the line it got mistranslated into the doomsday story everyone hears about.

If anything, some bad stuff could go down though, because I'm thinking some insane group could come along and think that 2012 is their "destiny" or something like that... I dunno...
 
i guess its a possiblity for the world to end then, just like its a possiblity for it to end tomorrow. theres nothing we can do if something does happen. we will just have to wait and see...
 


Well I don't beleive it, but I had an interesting conversation with a fellow today and he was me wondering. Because I was like well the mya are gone WTF do they know? Well where did the mya dissapear to? No bones have ever been found, and there are 200+ bones in the body. If the mya (a civilization of millions) all died wouldn't we find at least a couple bones? I'm thinking aliens guys...2012=aliens ha
 
it won't be the complete end of the world...possibly the end of the world AS WE KNOW IT but I even doubt that.
People are wayyyyy to gullible in todays world

and the myan culture dissapeared as a whole. they had used all the resources of the land and thuss migrated/dispursed to areas of the continet that could support small communities, rather than one huge community.
and as far as the Y2K that has little to do with natural disasters.
Y2K was a scare of all the computers crashing and taking all of our monies
and throwing humanity backwards 50 years.

I was so hoping that was going to happen.

I dk what's going to happen, but I'm skeptical about it. The science behind it is not only interesting but scary as hell! From what I've read I've gathered that there's quite a few different events predicted to occur in 2012.

-The planet's are supposed to re-align causing a polar shift of up to 10 degrees which would supposedly cause major tsunamis as the glaciers enter the oceans and raise the sea level. The polar shift will also induce dramatic plate shifts potentially causing earthquakes and volcanic eruptions across the world.

-Also a solar storm is predicted to occur on our sun which could basically fry us...

-And historical patterns say that every time the Mayan calendar comes to an end there is a major (or cataclysmic) event in the fate of the human race.

who the hell knows?! but we should live it up either way!
