What type/brand headers are you guys running?

We are getting close to getting headers and a smaller pulley. What headers should I buy? Bill Boost has a sweet step by step instructions on how to install without removing the motor. My neighbor has cermaic coated ones which he says cool off real fast compared to stainless. Is that improtant? What makes a good header? Motor mods will stop at intake, headers, smaller pulley and a pro tune. Oh yeah any links to places that sell your recommended header would be awesome!

Thanks

little less radiant heat in the engine bay.

10-20* F.

Not much, couple of horses.

Worth the cost?....

Up to you...

You can do headers for under 300.

Speed daddy header knock offs. $198 shipped from Ebay.

Ceramic coating is useful for keeping underhood temps, but Im not sure if its worth it for the cost.

They are hard to get to seal though. You need copper spray and at least 2 band clamps.

spray?

I used RTV.

Clamps they come with are better for sealing.

But they will be difficult to take apart later.

yeah my neighbors GTP is crazy modded. Intercooler, cam, bigger pulley on motor, smaller pulley on SC and he is all about cool air so that makes sense for him... not so sure it would make difference for us especially because we have cold air fender well intake.

the clamps they come with are junk.

get 2 2.25" stepped band clamps for the crossover and a tube of ultra copper. reef the piss out of them. seals perfect. no worries.

All I know is that the pipe from the u-bend thing to the reducer is too short by like 1mm to get the pipe all the way in without there being a hole. I had leaks up the wazoo untill i bought some 3" band clamps, sprayed them with copper spray, then torqued them down like a mofo. Now my exhaust sounds stock.

if you went that far, FWI will be restrictive.

Open cone with some shields would be better.

Well thats my neighbors car and he claims the cooler helps his car compared to more air... I know that issue has been debated though...

We are just going to be running headers, intake, slightly smaller pulley and a good tune. Keeping fingers crossed that the trans will stay intact after...

I sport the old original TOGs (The Other Guys) Headers on my GTP. Ceramic coated, still look good to this day. Never a leak with them, just used A LITTLE copper RTV on the doughnuts, and all is well and they have been in and out, off and on a dozen times.

Back when these came out, they were like $1,100.00 I got mine new for $800.00 because the EGR was welded horribly, no sweat, don't run one. Made me a block off plate, and good to go.

I run pacesetters. No leaks if you weld the y-pipe and don't use those paper gaskets on the dp and get a copper one

I did that.

But removing the brake booster to get the rear primaries out was not fun.

Also, the bolts for the DP werent fun either.

Enjoying the V band thoroughly.
