What tires are best to keep traction

I don't know very much about tires but what are the best tires I can run that have good grip on my stock rims and what's the biggest size tires I can go on stock rims?

Grip. Might need to be defined here. Snow, rain, dry pavement??? Tire rack has pretty good reviews on all types.

245/50/16 is the largest tire you can run on the stock rims but it looks stupid. Makes the wheel gap look even worse.

Stick with the 225/60/16 size. A bridgestone potenza, michelin performance tire or even like a cooper rs3 or something similar is going to be a grippy tire.

Meaning transmission parts will want to break or axles.

If you made some decent power you'd be pushing your luck more that's for sure. Stock input shaft is not super strong. Not trying to scare you or anything but just keep that in the back of your mind with mods and grippy tires. Say you get some wheel spin and then hit good pavement with grippy tires, that's going to be alot of force being put on the input shaft and internal parts and failure could happen.

I just got some michelin pilot sport A/s3's a few months back.. they are way better then the perell's that were on there be for. Not very cheap but they hug the road and are a 40k tire

I want those... it's almost like having tracks. lol
General Grabbers and BFG's fit on 16's. LOL

Anyway, I had Eagle GT's on a 97 that were great but expensive. I think I had ContiExtreme's on the 99 that were an excellent rain and ok snow tire. They were 235 and 225 respectively.

Love my A/S 3's. DO NOT DRIVE WITH THEM IN WINTER. (that required all caps, ha). They are NOT an allseason, even though they say they are. I run blizzaks in the winter.
