Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What should I do with this laptop?

Bought a laptop for $120, it was broken but it looked like it just needed an OS re-install. Booted off the xp disk, it got to the formatting stage and it just sits at 0% so I'm assuming the hard drive is bad. It's really only worth about $250 with everything working fine. It's a nice looking laptop but it's only got a 1.6 processor, 512mb of ram and an 80gig hard drive. Should I put in a new hard drive which I might be able to get for free and still try and make a bit of money or just lose the $20 and sell it to this guy on craigslist that buys broken laptops for $100?

ehh Laptops are a pain. I hope it's not a dell... I bought one for $60 and it had a BIOS password. For the life of me and my cousin we couldn't get past this password. We ended up burning th chip by accident and now it's somewhere I don't know lol.

I would just sell it to the guy that buys broken laptops. Who knows what else could be wrong with it... I mean.. unless it's gonna be your personal laptop..

lose the 20 sell it and walk away or take a little time install new hard drive and sell for what 250 and make a few bucks
i say sell it

It's a toshiba. Yeah who knows. I bought it to sell it, I was just hoping to make money not lose it haha.

Before doing any of that, test the drive for errors and do a low level format. Find out the manufacturer of the drive then search for the right tool. Check out Hiren's BootCD. It has 99% of what you'll need.
