Yesterday my car start skipping like it was out of gas,didnt seem to go unless floored and still not much,but never failed to start,about 30 mins later crunk and drove a few feet,never hesitated again,it's a 00 gp gtp,my gas hand was going up and down,my fuel pump is still working I believe,who ever before me replaced the to cool pack cause it has that yellow junkyard writing on it,it has a quarter tank in it,I called the tow truck to come get it and take it home,got home drove it and now nothing,what can it be??
 




My rpm hand has never worked,I have no way to see if its throwing codes cause I live 15 miles or so from autozone and I'm afraid to get out in it,it hasn't hesitated again,it just started skipping like it was running outta gas,it died crunk it again,drove it again and died again but had a quarter tank in it,I drive is exactly 73 miles that day and the day before combined,it was 90 outside but don't think heat was a factor,idk else what to check for or how to
 
is the check engine light on? if not, theres no code to read most of the time.

could be a crank sensor. they like to make the car stall, then it will restart, or not restart for hours, days or weeks, they will of a sudden decide to work again. crank sensor rarely sets the cel light off.
 
UPDATE-I took my map sensor off my 00 gtp and put the one 0ff the 03 se and it seemed to run better,i had ful boost and it was more responsive like before I had to floor it going down the road to get full boost now I can bearly push the gas and it does good but then it wouldn't start,i unplgged it and it seemed to start but not to sure if it caused that but I put the old one back in so we can drive the se and now hardly any boost,it didn't seem to start with the sensor off the 3.1,they have the same numbers and are identical but wouldn't start,not sure if it was causing the starting but know its dirty or bad because the boost,i drove the gtp a mile and drove good with 3.1 sensor and boost was the best its ever been,my dad said the coil pack may be getting hot,is that possible???
 
ive also heard the crank sensor can cause the rpm hand not to work,whats the signs of a bad one,can it cause boost problems??
 


crank sensor symptoms are right before it stalls the tach drops to zero, then the car stalls.

some times they fire right back up, sometimes they dont.
 
haven't drove it there yet because im afraid it will go crazy and I don't have the extra money to have my car towed home, think I only get 1 tow for free per month per vehicle
 
short of having a scanner come to you, you'll have to get the car there.

whenever the cel light comes on your car is asking for help. they should be checked asap.
 


both of your cars are asking for help, any time the lights on your engines not running up to its full potential. its not a GP thing, a sensor went bad.
