What now???

I use amazon.com and got a budget of about 30 bucks right now,if somebody can find a obd 2 scanner or usb cable that would 100% work that would be awesome,thanks
 


those work, not many features but will read the code for you.

theres also the torque app for droid phones, you need the obd2 blue tooth thing, they run around 15 bucks, then iirc 5 bucks for the app. it does far more then that scanner you posted. if you have a smart phone its the way to go.

pretty sure theres a i phone app out these days too.
 
i dont like the reviews much, porn on the disk, with viruses....id pass. windows 7 problems, and old software. why pay to ship it back. pass and find something with better reviews.


the smart phone app does the same things. and we know it works. 20 dollar scanners also read codes. at this point its what you need, the code...

i told my brother about the torque app, he went and got the blue tooth thing and the app, my cel went off when i visiting him, in less then 5 minutes it was hooked up to my car and read the code, as well as all my live data. its a pretty cool app.

i dont have a smart phone, so i dont have one. if i did, i would.
 


I'm just gonna buy the 1st one I posted a link to,I'm only worried about the codes anyways right now,I'll post when I get it in the mail and what codes it's throwing
 


Ok it's saying code p0440 which is the evap system,maybe gas cap but it says something like emissions system,could that also be like my map,maf,iac sensors to?
 
Ok I thought the pcv system is what made the emissions better or whatever,so the code isn't for my pcv system or what makes it like the sensors cause I believe my iac and map or maf is bad,don't remember but the one behind the back valve cover,it seemed to boost great sometimes with one off the other Grand Prix put on it
 


i had that code, swapped the purge solenoid over the rear valve cover. code went away.

also had a egr code that a used map sensor fixed.
 
Ok but I think my map is bad,I get hardly any boost unless floored going down the road,I put the one out of the gp with the 3.1 and it seemed to boost better,what do I need to do,that's the only code it's showing,do you know how you can turn your vents to like just vents then feet then defrost that hiss it does to change,mine does that at random and won't go off,I was told they run off the engines vacuum lines,and it dosent idle good as it should,I need to see a stock boost gauge to see how it does driving regular,not to sure what else to do
 
you got a vac leak or some crap under the dash if the air directions not moving.

check the vac line on top of the supercharger, the thin one that should lead to the pass side fire wall, that one controls the vac for the air flow.

the purge solenoid is the one with 2 vac lines on it, change that first with one for a 3800. not a 3.1

the map sensor may be bad, but the boost solenoid my also be bad given the boost issue.
 
I know I made it all confusing but I took the maf off the 3.1 and put it on the 3.8 and it ran better and it's like the hissing dosent go away in the vents like its trying to change like its suppose to and when the rain stops I'm going to make sure there's no leaks and try to determine whats bad,I'll post again soon,thanks for the help
