What I'm going to ask for a grad present

I think I'm going to ask for a Mini Cooper S. My mom and dad said they want to get me a newer and "more reliable" car for college. They don't think my prix has a lot of life left in it D: I've been talking about it and I believe I have a 10k limit . Are the Minis reliable at all? Any opinions on other cars to maybe look at ?

The only Honda I like is the prelude. There aren't many of those where I live. Not sure if I can find a WS6 in the price range

I actually like minis lol it's really only the price that keeps me from those and bmw .. like a neon srt-4? Not a fan of that car D:

You want a reliable car and you're picking a Mini? You can't even get parts for it except from a dealer. Hondas and Toyotas are pretty reliable most the time for the price range you have. If you work on your car yourself, GM and Fords have the widest part selection, especially when you get into their performance cars (Camaro, Mustang, etc).

All depends on what you want to spend. For $10k you could swing a '05 GTO if you're patient. However, performance cars are going to be a ***** for you insurance wise unless your parents are paying.

Im just saying. a GTS has a small v6 and theres not much for aftermarket. a mini is too small for me imo even if it would be fun to drive. but its german so its going to be expensive to fix. What are you really looking for in a this car? reliability? performance? looks?

I like the looks. I think I want to have a performance car separate to a good and nice looking DD. I like their fuel economy and their peppiness. Especially the type s with a supercharger

rook where are you finding 05 GTO for 10k that dont have a million miles and previous salvaged title?

Saw one a while back for $9k with 70k miles or so, clean title. They're out there, but you have to be patient. Some people need to get rid of things for various reasons. Hell, I saw a '01 Firebird in good condition with 70k miles or so for $2500 once. They were getting rid of it for a sedan cause the wife got pregnant. I soooo wish I had that kind of cash at the time. Anyway, I'm happy with my current cars, even more so with my latest addition.
