What I'm going to ask for a grad present



To add on. I'm hoping for a car that I don't have to put a ton of money into and possibly have it for maybe 5 years or more. My prix I have had since last November and there is near $1k into it. Granted 500 was new tires, the rest has all been engine work
 






Get a mini - if your a gay man and don't plan on getting it on w/ the ladies. Have you priced out mini parts or the reliability and they're not spacious.

Gto/trans am- wouldn't be a bad choice depends on what you want.

Used honda- reliability. good mpg

camry/corolla etc.

Another options is not having your parents go broke and have to sell their house and eat rice and ramen for the rest of their lifes so that you can have a reliable car and also do you know how expensive college is? Idk who's paying or it may just be how I am but really shouldn't put everything on them :) and get a cheaper car 5-6k etc.

another maybe it's just me but I tend to think more about the ones around me or whoever will be affected by your decisions aka parents paying for college etc

so $500 in engine work is a lot? you do realize things eventually break right and there's a thing called maintenance right? it's part of life you will eventually understand that.

Not trying to sound like a dick either but you may need to think harder on your reasons. you could always fix whatever wrong if anything w/ the prix and drive it the first year or two in college or until w/e breaks is not worth repairing anymore then look for new cars.
 
During college you'll be doing stupid things with friends too. No reason to trash a newer car with lots of random driving or vomit from you're not so sober passengers. lol
 
People in college generally can't drive worth a **** and don't care too much about other peoples' cars. Whatever car you take to college is probably going to get a little beat up..
