rear brakes installed

long story short, broke a replacement calliper went back to the old busted one because it didn't leak.. waiting till monday to get another new one..

I'm now a PRO at changing 04+ rear callipers, takes nothing to get it off now lol

not even sure if i want the full story on this. calipers....2 bolts, whats the problem?

problem comes in when putting back on the brake line, despite hand threading it in until snug, then using a wrench it somehow ripped all the threads out of the hole..

your that guy aren't you ???

i have a friend like that, i cant let him tighten a thing, or loosen anything. his righty tighty lefty loosey scale dont work for him.

are you left handed, my friend is. could be the problem......:th_scratchhead:

on a real note, that really sucks bad....:th_angry-teeth:

I've never had a problem with this kinda stuff.. i can build a damn furnace from scratch, never have an issue.. for some reason this drivers rear wheel hates me. the other day with the fronts was just frustration not knowing what to do. now i know what to do, i know how to compress the piston in the rear etc. its just this damn brake line bolt.

Drove it to the boyfriends brothers new house house and parked it in the yard so it could learn how to roof a house. And I went inside and painted for 12 hours.

Cars and coffee in Chanhassen at 8 am today, saw an Lamborghini Aventador, an Lexus LSA, Mclaren MP4-12C and about 4 Rolls Royce including a new Phantom. All in all, there was roughly 20 Ferraris, maybe 10-15 Lambos, and about 40 Bentley, Maserati, and Lotus's. Those were just the exotics too. There was WAY MORE cars that that. Plenty of old muscle and new muscle, there was even a Shelby Cobra GT concept.
After that I went to a pool party, skated with friends and came home and watched some Top Gear and here I am lol yeah.

What kind of skating?

Not new new. Just new to them. It was a forecloser and kinda rough. Whole roof needed replaced, all the flooring was taken up and kitchen gutted. We were busy little slaves yesterday.

Yesterday I replaced the last strut mount, no more popping yay, and removed my passenger side fender so I can actually open my door. Let me tell ya its a pain in the ass to get a fender off of one of these cars.

I did this yesterday:

It's actually only 117 miles but the 1 rolled over at 90 miles and the 2 rolled over at 100 lol

And this for the memorial ride I was on:

Track night last night, car went 5.97 @ 131.6 on motor. Not terribly pleased with my 60' times, but I'll work on it. Did not break, and drove it onto the trailer. Must be a success.

Edit: For you newbs, that's 1/8 Mile- 660'.

your that guy aren't you ???

Yep, He is that guy.

Today.. well lets see today SUCKED for the car.

started by changing the brakes, first time ever doing it.. so of course i noobed all over it lol

couldn't figure out how to get the bracket off the calliper, well i figured it out after much cursing and help from GPF.

got new rotors on, but the pads wouldn't fit.. too narrow.. well i had no idea how to get the piston back in. everything i was doing wouldn't work.
box instructions said i could crack the bleeder screw to relieve pressure.. no dice. finally got it going in by using 2 small clamps and an old pad lol

got the fronts all buttoned up. Now I've gotta bleed the system.. checked about just taking it in to be done, $100.. EFF THAT.

so i read up on 1 man bleeding procedures.. started by jacking car back up, took drivers rear wheel off.. went to loosen bleeder screw.. it sheared right off. clean flush off..
back to GPF..
thankfully its not leaking.. but who knows for how long..
I opened the door to check something, saw that somehow with my key sitting on the pull lock, i tore the door panel.

FUUUUUUUUU

so I ask around to my buddy.. he's got 05 callipers, so I'm gonna pick them up sat. and throw em on, with HELP this time lol
and i can get a new door panel easy too.. so its all working out, but HOLY CRAP what a stressful day.

that ws my day with my car.. /Rant

I know NOTHING about the 1/8 mile, seems fast to me. What would that maybe be in a quarter mile.

Pondering the idea of going out and starting the polishing process on some parts of the car. Arms already kill, might as well endure more pain.
