• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

finally took the plunge and changed my valve cover gaskets. the rear 3 plug boots were all covered in oil so in hoping this fixes my leak.

took it for a quick drive around, parked it, came back found the same 3 inch round puddle ive been seeing lately. put it up on the ramps and it was still pretty dry from when i wiped it down a few days ago, as im wiping the top of the trans from underneath i get wet oil, clean it up best i can, let it sit for a while, come back and i see a oil trial from the top of the trans, so i hope that the old covers were leaking on top of the trans and just left it all wet.

i parked in a spot i dont park in, the ground was clean where i parked, the waiting game begins.

EDIT: i found no need to loosen up the alt bracket to get the rear valve cover off. from info i saw in a few threads.

I took it down to the car wash and pressure washed the bugs off of it. Then I took it home and hand washed it with what little bit of soap I had left. I used a sponge on the rockers to try to get all the crud off of them. Anyway, it looks better but it's smudgy and has water spots and looks like god awful hell imo. I just wish I had a polisher of some sorts to polish it and get it looking right.

Wipe it til it's dry with a chamois cloth. Spotless :D

I assume we're referring to the wife's T/A, as pictured earlier-Catback by yours truly, Magnaflow Muffler and Corsa clone 4" tips.

just went out to move my car, it had less than a dime sized dot under it. i think im oil leak free now, just waiting for the residual oil to dry up/leak off the trans. if it goes leak free for a few days it will get a de greasing.

take her for another spin, move that oil around, park again see whats what.

i drove it for a 1/4 tank of of gas, tomorrow morning will tell the story for good. im feeling good about it tho.

anyone ever smell something funky burning after changing valve cover gasket, i used felpro's and had a bit of smoke off both covers, and a odd burning smell as the car warmed up, no more smoke just the smell, checked the wires all are clear.
