What did you do to your Car today?

I was almost out of gas, it was in the orange zone, but I just knew it would make it home where the Kroger is because I had a 20 cents off a gallon thing on my points card.
Well I'm coming down the road, a/c blowing cold, radio jamming to the favorite of tunes, and she starts choking and bucking. I thought aw hell I've gone and done it now.
So I turned everything off, hooked a right on the next street and made it to the Shell station. Got her $5 worth. Got her back home and filled her up with Kroger Premium for $3.75/gallon, original price $3.95/gallon. She is happy now. No more deathly stumbles.

Yes I know that lol. But I thought it had plenty left, at least a good one or two gallons, you know how GM gauges lie. I figured it would make it 8 miles home. Well apparently that orange low fuel light wasn't playing around today. LUCKILY I thought fast and there was a station less than a 1/4m mile a way.

But I have you know, it was 86 somethin degrees today pushin 90. Car was hotter than all hell when I got in it. So a/c was a must.

I understand that. I run my ac when i have my kids with me or the wife as she likes to ***** but if i'm by myself i usually just roll the windows down.

Lol. Well I guess I'm a woman. I can't stand heat. Here's a perfect example lmao!!

Just kidding man. But seriously, you got a/c, use it ;) I spent enough time as a kid riding around in hoopties from my mom's drug addict boyfriends that had no a/c and had to run the heat to keep it from over heating. I've paid my dues.

i've rolled (out of gas) literally into gas stations hoping for no line. 2 times.

first time 77 caddy, it was low on gas when i left my driveway and i was going to get gas, but it died 2 blocks after i passed the light. , 4 blocks from home. thank god it was a slight down hill road, i rolled for 10 blocks right up to the pump.

2 nd time i was in my truck on a long highway run home, and i just refused to stop, passed 4 or 5 stations when i had less than a 1/4 tank. needle wasn't moving to fast so i figured f ill make it the rest of the way. next time i look at the gauge, it was flat on E and felt week. rounded the next exit and i knew there was a station 3 or 4 blocks up to road, i hit a red light and it stalled. waited for it to turn green, it fired and i just floored it till it died again witch got me to a good 40 mph, from there i rolled right up to the pump at a gas station and filled it up, i had a 32 gallon tank and it took 33 gallons to fill it lol, i was out...

Depends on the speed of the car. At highway speeds you're better off with the A/C on vs. the aerodynamic hit you take with windows down. Mythbusters did an episode testing it.

and we also learned that street tires don't last to long on a oval track, even at 55 mph.

You must not have watched the whole episode, or they may have retested it. The first test they did was based on calculations and showed windows up/ac on got better mileage. When they did actual testing they proved AC lowered the mileage.

I just figured he was in town.
Yeah I was. I was trying to baby it. And wouldn't ya know my luck has it that every light was turning red on me!

We drive GPs, wind or a/c will kill our mileage. But a/c doesn't hurt it that bad really. Even if it did I must haz. :D

the .5-1 mpg diffidence(which ever is better) isnt enough to make me be uncomfortable while im driving, if its to hot for just the windows down then the ac is coming on and i wont think twice
