• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What did you do to your Car today?

I got some leftover sheet aluminum from my dad's recent project, cut it down to size, and fabricated two pieces for the front fenders. They attach to some screws already on the area (the point where the fender/bumper becomes the wheel well) and redirects air which would otherwise have hit the tires.

I test-drove it around the neighborhood, too. I'd like to say it's quieter at 40+ MPH, but I might just be hearing what I want to hear.

I'll have pictures later.

Drove it to work.
Put 20 gallons of water and a few bags of sand blast material in the trunk, as if it didn't have azz sag before.

Those shields, I forget what they're called, probably deflect the sound.
I was thinking it the sound that was there previously (assuming I'm not imagining things) was wind hitting the tire (the top of the tire is going two times the speed of the car, so keeping air off that is quite helpful), and these new deflectors are keeping that from happening. They're on the splitter end of the wheel-well, not the mud flap side.

No photos yet, since I have to have good light outside. They're small and painted black, so sometimes you can't even tell they're there.

Drove it like I was crazy. I can't tell you why but it was a good reason, it had to do with people in danger. Went I got home I could smell like burning rubber. I snifed around and it seemed to be coming from the rear tires. I have new stock size Goodyear Eagle GT all seasons on the stock CompG wheels. Maybe I slide the back tires braking, I don't know. Later I filled up with premium, $44 for 11.5 gallons. Well it'll only get worse.

Been a busy week for me on the GTP. Tonight I decided to do the LIM gaskets, valve covers, spark plugs and wires. I also need to adjust the a/c compressor clutch, as the gap is not correct and it is grinding. Alternator bearings are shot, and idler pulley is on its way out. Good thing I did them when I did, otherwise I wouldnt have found the other things until the belt broke on me.

I still have to track down another oil leak. Im thinking its the pan gasket...
