Well, I'll call around Monday. May have to ditch the idea on trying to get that GTP. I know its not a huge deal that the window is cracked. Time will tell if it gets bigger, just a real downer.

My grandpa said figure out how much it would cost if I were to throw more coverage on to fix it but I have a feeling that wouldn't be worth the extra per month I would have to pay. Plus that seems kinda shady.

Sh*t happens bud.. Don't stress over it. You pay high insurance rates (from what I remember) for a reason lol. Let them fix it.
 


Bummer on the windshield, man. Thats a helluva bad spot for blinding reflections off the crack. Not so major when compared to finding grey oil or having the trans slip though. Count your blessings and give the glass man a few days' pay ASAP. You won't have to touch anything but your phone. Might actually be a good thing this happened if it keeps you away from that rustbucket. Of course you could always sell that slick GT with the crack and go bargain GTP hunting.

Whtever you need to convince yourself to buy still won't pay for then $400-500 for it tho!

Edit; and that's just because you want the topswap and windshield everything else on the car is probably junk including the transmission.
 
Im not gonna pay 800 for it, im gonna see how good my haggling is. If I can get it for 300 which is probably unlikely but doesn't hurt to try, I'll take the windshield. Take the top end off and sell that then scrap the rest.

Just took off my compressor clutch. Confirmed, it is the cause of the grinding sound with the ac off. The springs got weak and are not retracting anymore. So the clutch drags. New used clutch on The right.

Edit:
Yay no more noise now. New used clutch works as it should and is gapped correctly at .025". One less thing wrong with my car now.

Installing this today, with my son...he'll be handing me tools, not under the car. He's not even 3 1\2 yet:

Dave might have a new Spokesman!
 
02navyblue, were you able to do that clutch while it was on the car, or did you let it hang and work on it from under the car.

seen that vid, didnt seem all that bad really.
