• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What did you do to your Car today?

That motor swap took 3 days because I did it with one arm lol. The only things that needed changed were the motor mount bracket, ac compressor bracket, oil filter housing, and the alternator bracket. And with both motors outside the car is was a matter of minutes to get that done. Oh, and we had to swap the oil pans

Washed it for the first time in a few weeks. Also vacuumed the interior and cleaned the windows. Also put in some LED strip lighting in the trunk for added light. I ran it across the bottom of the speaker tray where there's an indented area. It turns out I still had to leave the original incandescent light in the circuit though, without it the bcm doesn't see enough current and shuts the power off going to the light. So both are lighting the trunk. I'll go snap some pics and edit this.

Edit: Yeah I really like it lol. Last night I was fumbling around almost blind with the minimal light the stock setup gave off. Now it's brighter than the interior lighting

Link to led strip? That's nice. How did you wire it?

Shhhhh I didn't tell it that it had a choice.

I did hear it afterwards though. Never usually hear it. Which is odd for a GM pump of it's age.

Thanks Guz! And also Thanks for that tip. I'm almost out of 26 so I'll try the 21 next. I should also pick up some of that b2b cleaner. I have the regular restorer but sometimes it just doesn't seem to have the punch to get the really bad stuff off.

M21/M26 is a popular combo. My arctic white 02 Camaro is wearing that combo right now and it looks great. Your car would look nice with that combo as well.

What all did he do to the transmission? Maybe the harness got pinched and wires are broken\shorting or something of the sort?

Yeah that's what I'm afraid it is..

And it was just the P0717 code before, then he told me he "fiddled with the wires and cleared the codes." Then the P0717 went away for a while and the P1810 popped up. Now it has them both. I haven't even touched the damn car yet.

Start by using a multimeter to check the harness\solenoids. You just have to unplug connector on the top of the tranmission an start check the resistance of the pins...lemme see if I can find the pinouts and resistance values....

Depends on your definition of easy...the side cover most likely has to come off. Of course, Bill has all that info covered, lol.
