Well I drove it over to my uncle's place and rode with him and a few others to the Flashlight Drags. Actually had a few Wbodies over there. A red Monte SS (supercharged), and a gold 97-03 GTP with Mustang Bullits on it. Neither one was exceptional. My cousin smoked the SS in his Civic, though his Civic is turbo.

When I got home I decided to wash the GP. I did a partial wash on the work truck to get all the bug guts off it before I drop it back off at the shop.



The hood is still effed up on the GP but a solution to that is coming very soon.
 
Well I put my carburetor rebuilding to the test today. I finished it last night, put it on the mustang today and it fired right up and ran really good. Really the first time it's run on it's own in 23 years. Sounds good except the exhaust manifold gasket is completely blown out on the drivers side. I'll get a video of the first start up in a little bit. I also dropped it in drive and it wouldn't move, checked the trans fluid and it was empty. Ended up taking 7 quarts of fluid before reaching the full line. Then I dropped it in drive and it lunged forward so I guess the trans at least works. It doesn't have brakes so I didn't want to go far. Surprisingly it runs much better than the truck though.

Here's the 68 mustang running with the holly I rebuilt, the fuel line is in a can for now until the gas tank line is fixed.


That first backfire was really loud though lol. It was loud out front too. Does it sound cammed?

I swapped pulleys on a guys car and played with his tune a little. Then I routed my ic hoses and mocked up some more stuff on my car

Gave the wheels a good wash and the tires a good cleaning. I used Meguiar's D143 non-acid wheel and tire cleaner to clean the tires and I followed up with Meguiar's new ultimate black tire coating. Also cleaned the wheels with soap and water since they have Mothers M Tech synthetic wax. I tried out Mothers Reflections spray wax to boost the synthetic wax on the wheels since the reflections spray wax is the most durable spray wax Mothers makes.
 


Sounds like me I got a random spike of 28mpg then back to 26.
In other news car is back to dusty and its starting to rain boo.

Actually mine drains quite nice, except it get filled with the little helicopter things from the trees. My dads SE spoiler would be a bird bath it was hilarious.

did a starter on a 02 chevy van this morning. could be one of the easiest starters ive ever changed.

so the vans owner had shopped for a new starter at the local parts stores, all over $140 for new and rebuilt, so im like how about the re builder? hes like ok lets see how much. 80 bucks. cant beat that. guy had one on the shelf, no waiting either. in and out.

lies, that dont work, trust me i know. the rain will leave a film of pollen and dust with round rings where the rain dried up, not spots, but in the dirt.

happens to me every time its clean. dusty, then rain, then filthy again. if you drive it in the rain its over, cars filthy all over, just letting it sit in the rain you can dry it off and make it better. wet cars that dry on their own always look like crap. unless you hit the highway and do 75 for a mile or two lol
 
I need to put rainx on the windows or use this super awesome glass cleaner my uncle had it beaded water so good I never had to use the wipers on a 4 hours trip thru steady rain and the back window stayed dry the whole time it was crazy
