I bet you cracked the plug tightening it. Before doing plugs on the GP I had never broken a plug before. When I did plugs on the GP I broke #2 plug TWICE. It's a bad angle. GM f#cked us by putting the o2 sensor in the way,
 
buy a spark plug socket. its got a bolt head at the top, then use a wrench on the socket.

they also have a foam insert to keep the plug from cracking.

Yeah, you're right. I was thinking backwards for some reason, thinking the trans was on the driver's side. #2 was a b!tch to get to, but #6 is the one I cracked twice.
