• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What did you do to your Car today?

Balls deep in this intake. Also cleaned the TB and MAF, New TB gasket but I think my UIM is leaking coolant. But not into the motor. The intake sounds soo nice. I get hissing around 14% throttle and it gets quieter with more gas but it was kinda like thst before. Gonna try flipping dog bones tonight, I noticed im getting a good amount of movement from the circular rubber bushing. Holding paint off till it gets in the 60s for best final product. Total cost of everything was 45 bucks. Filter was 35 with next day shipping.

I did notice that the arm rest was gone on that one. It was the first one I've ever seen there. If I go back and you don't find one I'll see what I can find.

You can definitely tell why most of the 3800s were there....lots of engine fires it appeared.
i almost went to take apart today. But hangover one the battle. I'm just now getting out of bed for the first tjme

Removed the console started taking the seats out to replace the carpet and started having chest pains and right arm went cold . Daughter made me stop and come in. I'll get back at it when it cools down some. 86 here in Tulsa.

lucky for you its when the left arm goes numb you better run to the ER.

Thats much cooler than what I did, Kyle. The cone looks sharp in that engine bay, adds some color. Sweet, enjoy.

On to my own picture story ... took pics in case it was a worthy end result. It was a small improvement which is what I was going for. I just wanted to be able to hear the SC whine enough so I know its there, if that makes any sense. Yesterday, I got my quicky wash job out of the way.

My air cleaner area was dirty, lots of small pebbles everywhere and K&N oil not helping by collecting dust. I drive a few miles of dirt road a week in my junk.

So I wanted to take the airbox out and clean it good. When I got the car, it had a cone directly on the TB and I did not like the idle hiss. The car I had just wrecked had this 02 model box with K&N drop-in so I nabbed that. But it was full of oil and ATF from the flip and I wiped it down kinda quickly. Finally getting back to clean it all up with warm soapy water, and I got an idea-

I used a dremel tool with an eighth inch drill bit to ventilate the side of the box, in the grooves. Left out the baffle that was screwed over that section of the box. This vent faces away from the heat sources as far as air intake goes, faces toward me as the sound goes, and retains all the computer and filter protection of a stocker. It did actually let me hear the blower just slightly, so its a win. Uber-lame as a "mod" so I'm not sure I would even call it that. You have to look from just the right angle to even see the cutouts.

One more note ... at the end of the day, I left the engine cover off. It will probably stay that way. :)

Im keeping mine on, too much ugly wires, also happy cuz my IATs are just a few degrees off from the stock box

It does cover a lot of ugly stuff. The lettering on yours goes better with the car than mine. Mine makes me think Regal because its the Buick font, lol. No offense, Scotty. Regals are cool too. But you gotta admit the type style on mine doesn't go with the car at all. Any emblems are like mega voodoo in here, too.

Turned rotors, replaced pads. Replaced downstream O2, seafoamed, and cleaned out the EGR. Also replaced brakes on a Grand Am, and took the Mustang to be Dino tuned.

i dont even have a cover, it was missing when i got the car so buick, pontiac, i dont know the difference really lol

I'll post the video here I guess. Got the 68 fastback to run on it's own fuel, gas put in the carb inlet since fuel won't come from the tank for some reason. Today was the first time it ever ran on it's own, I had it running for about a minute total, before I left I remembered I wanted to get a video of it running for a sec, so here it is. It's been sitting for 20 years, Just put some fuel in the carb and it fires. I did try doing things like new fuel pump and filter but it didn't make any difference.

I have worked on lots of 1960s car but never had one sound like that. I have had flames coming out ths carb(s) before.lol

Yeah I was expecting the flames lol. I want to go through the carburetor real good, or have someone do it. It's probably all gummed up and not tuned.

It sounds loud because of an exhaust manifold leak right at the front. There may be a performance cam in it for all I know, there are a few mods to it such as a locked rear axle (no diff). So both wheels spin the same speed no matter what, since there was no limited slip back then. That way both wheels would spin on burnouts.

Oh also, new dash cam ordered today, got the $100 cobra cam. My old one will go in one of my parent's vehicles.

Pulled the passenger seat to put in new carpet found this.

You should probably call the ATF Hotline and give those folks the make, model & serial# on that gun. They may be able to tell you if the gun hasn't already been reported as lost or stolen. I'm go out on a limb and guess it was originally stolen....
