Thanks. I don't believe so but I'm planning on writing a how-to for the 3800. Probably tomorrow. The fluid isn't actually black, its more of a very dark amber. The stuff is almost clear now.

And I agree about the maintenance. You see guys with all of these mods under the hood, but then you see their brake fluid reservoir, and the fluid in it is completely black. :th_scratchhead: Maintenance comes first, then if you have any money left (lol) feel free to mod.

Today actually marks the day that every fluid has been changed in my car. (Engine oil, Coolant, Transmission fluid, Brake fluid, Power Steering). Coincidentally all of those fluids are by Valvoline except coolant because they don't make it.

Blew a heater hose and fixed it, raced and beat 2 ricers (then slowed down so I could laugh at them and their weed whacker sounding engines), got pulled over for loud exhaust; my 3.1 sounds like a V8 lmao. Oh, and took the front end apart to fix my fenders, but their too shot to fix. They got kicked in a year ago lol. Long day lmao.

to get into od from second, you need to mash the pedal till 50 or so then it will hold with light throttle, any more gas and its screaming in second gear at highways speeds. passing ability is all lost.

That actually does sound terrible. Mine wasn't bad but still a pain in the ass. Was passing on the highway and noticed my car was sounding like it was about to enter hyperspeed for a good 10 seconds of light throttle. Was lolz. The price tag of fixing it...not so much.
 
at least thats fixable, loose 3 rd, its over johnny, it was a fun ride to Bills house for a tranny swap. its pretty much up hill the whole way too, not even a joke. literally up hill.

the ride home was much better.
 
This is what my 02 Grand Prix is doing right now. I'm hoping it is just the catalytic converter and nothing in the transmission.


As for what I did today, when I had the car's ignition on, but not the motor, I heard a loud clicking sound from under to hood. The idle air control valve was clicking madly away with no pressure on the throttle. So I wound up replacing it. Of course one of the Torx screws snapped when I was taking the old one out. Of course the nearest auto parts store didn't have the valve. So what should have taken 10-15 minutes wound up taking all afternoon. The mad clicking stopped, but the car still hesitates and when accelerating it feels like the car is driving in mud. Passing on the interstate is a dream right now.

Looked at the brakes on a friend's mustang. Changed the oil on moms van. Changed the oil and seafoamed dads cougar. Fixed father in laws mower.
