What did you do to your Car today?

Re: What did you do to your Grand Prix today?

Got 2 new tires, ordered new headlights, Ignition Switch, & Power Window Switch! Oh and also put some gas. :D Tried looking for something to mess with on the way back from the tire shop. Unfortunately nobody willing to go faster than 50 mph were out and about :(

I tore into the transmission a bit more, I think I'll go ahead and use these clutches, but I'll shim them up a bit to tighten it up.

Nice job on tearing it down, I remember you saying somewhere that you're not a trans guy and that you wouldn't want to rebuild yours, but man you've completely torn into that one! lol Way further than I'm comfortable with going. I just dealt with 4th gear clutches.

I rewired the two wires going to my wheel hub. All my warning lights went out again! I should have done this a month ago but better late than never.

Once it's out of the car, and you get it torn down to the 4th shaft, it's cake work. You screw 2 of the 10mm ***** bolts (you know the ones on the channel plate that circle the output shaft) into the overdrive drum, and pull slightly. Pieces just keep coming out from there. It's like I told my wife, it's almost like a layered cake and an erector set got together and their child was a 4t65e.

I almost want to make a song, like "The arm bone connects to the wrist bone, the wrist bone connects to the..." you get the idea. Problem right now is I don't know the actual names for everything, so it'd be something like "The 4th shaft connects to the gear thingy, the gear thingy connects to the other gear thingy"

When it's going back together.. if the pieces move around in the leg of the trans and feel sloppy..that's totally normal. I know..but it is.

Got three tires for the truck tonight at a heck of a deal. Last one is expensive though.
Tried to race Samm..... she wasn't up for it. Probably didn't want to upset Kyle or I.

Got a little fun in this morning with a 97-03 GT.
Watched the fuel gauge wander around like a lost kid

Guess who got to come home tonight......

Crappy picture. I at least washed it after pick up. I'll throw some shine on and get pictures the next few days.

This weekend I get to tackle Lee's truck for a detail.

Haha yeah I know, but it's putting it back and making sure everything is aligned properly, seals are sealing, etc. If I had a spare I'd do the same

I started cleaning the case up today, it's getting there, but not done. Before I started cleaning I put the Park section back together and pull out the non-HD diff. I also drilled out the flywheel, so that's ready to go right on. It's amazing how light this transmission is when it'd completely empty, lol. Pics tomorrow, I ran out of time to take pics today.

Parked it for a while. Coolant temp keeps climbing north of 210° when sitting in traffic or in a drive through and it worries me. Ambient temp was 85-90° range, a/c on. I don't know if I have an air pocket trapped or what, but coolant is full.

Well I bought a car today and then sold another one two hours later. Picked up a 2000 gtp front my work with absolutely no rust and it only has 87k miles on it. And then I sold what was my baby a 1998 gtp to some guy through Craigslist. So yeah I kept busy today
