What did you do to your Car today?

I hate to say it....

you lived up to your name ;)

I would say wheel bearing but I doubt it, it sounds almost like something is sticking out and hitting things. Or like some sort of like heat shielding is loose and rattling.

I've babied the thing! lol. You can't even hear it with the windows up and music playing. My buddy today got in my car and said "roll your windows down, turn the music off, and listen.." I just thought oh god what now.. lol

my god!!! its a day in your hands and you did what????? you got it, you broke it. lol carry on. poor regal. send it over here, ill take care of it for ya lol

Today was a weird day because the Cap'n didn't break anything, not even tools or vac lines or plastic pieces. It was my turn to break some tools today

I broke my POS GPS mount trying to adjust it today if that counts. A plastic piece will forever be in the dash somewhere. I swear things happen to make my sad days more miserable, for instance my ballast going kaplut.

plugs, boots & air filter on the cavalier yesterday. looked at the GP to figure out what is up with the rough running at times. Didn't find much. found a few fuses that were not pressed in all of the way and one bent fuse. We'll see if it runs any better.

my gp is the easiest old change i have ever done on any car...filter is right there.. no reaching.

It was awkward compared to the ones I have done. I had never done it before so I had to guess what to use. And I couldn't get a ratchet onto the pan nut so I had to get up and use my ratcheting wrench then I didn't buy a filter wrench I thought I had one that fit so I struggled with that. Like it wasn't bad but because it was the first one I did with the car I was learning my way around it. Next one will be much sooner. I decided to buy conventional oil and a decent filter and just change it every 3k

I tried even with rubber gloves idk if I had a bad angle probably cause I didn't take the wheel off. I always put them on by hand. I didn't put this last one on so we will see at 70649 miles if this one comes off as easy

My filter comes off by hand every time with no problems.
I normally turn the wheels to the right, just to have a little more access.

If your oil filter comes off by hand, it wasn't put on tight enough, or your hulk hands are surprisingly small.

20+ years of wrenching and I can count the # of "remove by hand" oil filters I've encountered on one hand. The other hand has an oil filter wrench in it. :th_thumbsup-wink:

I never had to use a oil wrench I hand tighten mine. I usually use a piece of rubber that grips it tight and believe me it's not going anywhere. Nowadays I just turn the wheel and it makes for a quick oil change.

I guess I got those guerrilla hands lol I've only used a filter wrench about ten times and I did that for a living for over 2 years. I probably have +500 oil changes under my belt thanks to sears.

Drove the Regal to school and tore apart a Chrysler transmission. Pics to come. Anyone else have any idea what the hell the noise this Regal is making?
