• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What did you do to your Car today?

the scanner i got was 12 bucks, 16 shipped, it reads/deletes, shows i/m ready or not.

last thing left to be ready is my evap now since i cleared the codes, this scanner clears all the sensors and i guess cause i dont drive it a lot its taken a month so for for all the system to be "ready" evap is the last one, and it was a evap code i deleted. tapping foot waiting..........

found my back tire soft again, got it filled. ill have to take a closer look at it.

picked up my mothers pos ford and took it out with me all day to see if it would leak coolant. no dice dry as a bone. its got to be the water pump, its the only thing that leaks coolant when ever it likes to. i stuffed some towels under the pump, ill see if it gets wet, at least that way ill know where it leaked from later on.

Look for a bluetooth ELM327 on eBay. iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone all have apps to interface with it. Some of the ones that cost money will also do realtime data.

Picked up some Lucas power steering stop leak. Says just add when it's low, and keep doing so til it stops leaking lol. Pretty vague but alright, that's what I'll do.

Also got this. Anyone know anything about welding/welders?

It's got copper colored welding wire in it, and I have another roll that's a silver color. Is one flux and the other is for gas welding?

Edit: Hmm so the copper colored wire is solid core wire for use with gas. The silver colored stuff I've got is flux core and doesn't require gas. Cool

It's been a while since I have done any welding. I have old Lincoln welder.

My CS runs straight lucas power steering stop leak fluid. Not because it leaks, but it is supposed to help with squeaks and squeals in the PS pump, but it still whines a bunch no matter what I do. LOL

I have full power assist so I know it's working just fine. I hate driving around a big car like a Wbody without powersteering.

Well the lucas stop leak is thick stuff. I think it would stop leaks and also cause pumps to whine more given how thick it is, but idk

No issues with it on my end. Used it on my Stealth and the leaks disappeared and the power steering pump is quiet as can be. Used it on the Grand Prix and so far so good and power steering doesn't sound any different than the day I bought it.

I weld plenty. Can't say I've seen that particular welder before but yeah its a gas or gasless 110V rig. Pretty handy addition to your work area if it works decent. Don't use it with an extension cord whenever possible, and be sure to straighten the cord to the trigger as much as you can before you zap, so the wire moves freely in there. Gasless is just messier.

What did I do to my car today? Oh I stomped the wee outta both of them but thats about it.

I tried it, I can tell it's a transformer welder by the 60hz hum. The feed kept getting stuck, maybe because of what you said, the cord for the trigger wasn't very straight. I'll see if that solves it. If it works and I get any good I'll get some gas and use the solid core wire. I've got a few things laying around that needs to be welded if I get good enough. I've been wanting to learn to weld for a little while now, I was looking at a longevity 170 amp. I'll see how this one does.

Hooked up an elm 327 wifi to my iPad. Found out OBDFusion will not show kr, but dashcommand does. Also found out my stock 07 has up to 3.5* kr?!?!?!?!? I think a plog is in my near future.
