What did you do to your Car today?

went out for a test drive with the snow tires, and they pass. we got about 3 inches so far, more on the way.

the car went up a hill it failed to go up last year with less snow on the ground.

Bad knock will sound like pinging, that just seems like something is cutting in. Like alot of torque management and reducing the cars power. Could have been seeing alot of knock and computer cut power and slowly let it back on.

Got some power steering fluid in my car and added some coolant after nearly overheating when it was -5 degrees.. Apparently I added a biiiit too much water when I changed my coolant elbows a few months back and I think my hoses were slightly froze up haha. Heater works like a champ now! Next year I'll have to remember to add the right coolant:water ratio right away and not put it off until it's too late lol

Did a lot of work today. Plugs, wires, coils, oil change, and an intake revamp on a friends Regal.

And fixed the wiper, and replaced a S/C coupler on Austons car

This is what it looks like when you forget to put RTV around the snout when changing a coupler and all your oil leaks out all over and your new coupler goes bad in a matter of weeks.. We did it right this time lol.

And last but not least just an Oil change in the old beast

Good mini meet/fix it day overall.

Been running a 50/50 blend of premium and e85 in my 2007 grand Prix. LOVING the results!!! It runs soooo smooth and idles around 550 rpms. Its loving the mix. No tune or anything for e85. Its been about 5 months of this of doing this.

Clay is banned from using my tools until further notice. There's a nice Stanley socket set and tool box on sale at Wal-Mart for $89. Start with that, it's a 250 piece set. The tool box even has wheels, I know you'll love that.

S/C coupler replaced on my GP along with some loctite in the windshield wiper where the threads had stripped out and the driver's side wiper didn't want to go up or down. Also installed a cabin air filter. An oil change on Clay's Eldorado, and a whole bunch of stuff in Paul's Regal - plugs and wires, oil change, and a new air intake. I think the latter had the most successful day, since I'm the guy that set out to fix my stupid right-next-to-the-O2 sensor exhaust leak, and never got around to it.

At least I remembered to seal up my snout after changing the coupler and putting new oil in it lol. I was supposed to do a radiator and brakes today too and well.. Stupid N* cars..

Also, my names CapnBreakAlot for a reason lmao.

Is there something I'm missing here? This is a very bad idea. With no tune, the AFR in your tune is still setup for Premium. Whenever someone goes to e85 they have a tune setup that puts the AFR to somewhere around 6:1...Unless I'm missing something here?

For full e85 zzp said I'd need larger injectors and a pcm tune to tell the engine to put in more gas but when u mix it with less the 60% you can get away with it no problem.

That's a pretty hefty mix for my liking, are you supercharged? How much Kr are you showing? With that mix you are basically running 87 octane...assuming your premium is 91.

The reason ZZP's e85 tune needs the bigger injectors is because of the AFR. The stock injectors don't flow enough to achieve something so rich.

E85 is 105 octane and my premium is 93 so my overall should be around 99ish. N/A also. How do u know how much KR? Overall my car runs super smooth and perfectly balanced. No vibrations from the engine or anything like that. Idles around 550 rpm and overall runs nicer. A little bit more acceleration but not a whole lot.

You need a realtime scanner to monitor KR. I use an OBD2 Blue tooth adapter that you can pick up on Amazon for about $15, then I run Torque Pro on my cell phone to monitor KR. The lower the better when it comes to KR, 0 is ideal of course. Anything over 5 and it's time to worry. I don't think you need to worry about it as much because you are not supercharged. You don't want KR either way, but being that you're N\A, you probably won't have any.

I have that scanner lol and that app. I'll look tomorrow when I go for a drive. I'll let u know what I find. Is it at idle im looking for or high revs or both?

^^^^ I have a cheap one off eBay. I've had no problem clearing codes with it. Its not the best at connecting sometimes but for $15 for both the app and the scanner, I can't complain.
