What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

How do you know you lost the forward band? Won't move forward? I only ask because about once a week if I do a rolling stop. I get the old slip bang engagement. Been doing that for about 25,000 miles but a lot of that is highway.

Won't move forward unless I drop the selector into 1st. After that it will move as I shift upwards, then once in 4th/OD it will downshift/upshift on its own.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Had the 99 registered for a week now. She drives well. Over the last couple days I've pulled [most] of the tint off the back window and all of it off my drivers window.
Bought myself a good Alpine head off Crutchfield.
Somehow let an $80 pair of projector/halos get away before realizing Certi-fit replacements are $65/ea. Looks like I'll be sanding down what I've got now.

Most importantly, pulled out the cracked fog light. Don't know if lenses are available to repair it but it seems a full pair of assemblies is only around $20-30, and with parts-yard assemblies at $10/ea, maybe that's not a bad deal. Thoughts?

You can find cyber white fog lights with a glass housing. They were quite popular. I would also recommend installing xpel film on glass housings to protect them. It was what I did with hella optilux lenses I currently have.

I had posted this in the Members Rides section but I will share it here as well... cold start after sitting 3-4weeks.

Here's a video of me trying to start it... This was about 10pm, temp outside was 5*F. Took 3 cranks. Something screeetching like a dead animal about 10-15 seconds after it's already started.

Had to replace the battery yesterday. There was an Advance Auto Gold battery in it from 6/2010. Put in an Interstate Battery. Alternator capped out as well. Replaced it today and all is good.

Bought her an Equus 3640 fuel pressure tester. Now we both wait for the snow to stop and the cold to fawk-off.

2011 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS.

I still have the Grand Prix sitting in the driveway. I'm going to look to see about possibly getting a transmission and selling it, or even selling it as is depending on what I can get out of it.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

figured this would be a easy bail out, you been talking bout selling her for a while now......i think she heard you lol

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

LOL, probably.

The entire time I have owned the car the transmission is what worried me the most. Every time there was a shudder or delay I would turn the radio down and listen and make sure I was still under power. I really had no choice but to go buy something else. I don't have a 2nd car so I couldn't just park it and fix it.

This is probably the motivation I need to get my Stealth finished now, so that I actually do have a 2nd car. I probably can't do anything til spring, unless I can get it together enough to roll and to a garage where I can actually work on it in all weather.
