What did you do to your car today? Vol 2.0

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

rust repair and keeping it?

yeah the wording was everything that lead me to a crash lol

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Yeah We'll see. Hopefully it will make me very happy for a few more years
was thinking about doing a headers-delete to free up some extra horses too ;)

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Still burping out of the heaterhose fitting so hopefully the $4 oring from the dealer will seal it up.

New o-ring snugged it up quite a bit. and a bolt that clamps the heater hose down tight should fix the problem. Also cleaned the throttle body and MAF.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Pulled my dome light assembly down and semi-fixed my switch I broke last week. I took a pic of the harness to post in my parts wanted ad. Hopefully I can get a harness so I can be done with that damn thing.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

just so everyone knows. koblalt tools are full free replacement/warranty just like craftsman. my ratchet busted during the tranny swap, it starter to skip the gear inside.

theres a number on the ratchet thats so old its not in the pc there any more, iirc i got this socket set back in 02 or 03, either way thats at least 13 years old, and i put a pipe on it many many times. aka hundreds of times easy. so they are forced to give me the next model up, turns out to be a 29 dollar ratchet. i paid like 30 bucks for this set back in the day.

and this new ratchet is a 72 tooth gear, it takes nothing of a turn to catch the next gear. i did see on line they got 90 tooth gear now too, only needs to move 4 degrees to catch the next tooth.

ive always had craftsman cause free replacement, but not one ratchet from them has ever lasted me 13 years, not even the 1/2 drive. all broke in one way or another in the first few years. put a pipe on them and its as good as dead.

and kobalt has a round handle, feels much better then the edge of a craftsman any day of the week.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

Wow what a coincidence. I also own a kobalt tool kit for the garage.
Just two weeks ago my 3/8 ratchet also broke. It was the forward reverse lever that broke off (let a friend use it)
I'm pretty sure I have the same replacement as yours :)

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

thats funny. the sub frame bolts killed mine, some how they became very hard to remove, had t move up to a breaker bar, and the floor jack handle.

the guts have been getting sloppy for the last few years too. but it never skipped a tooth before. so i figured before i got a finger busted open, id replace it.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

I'm definitely going with an impact wrench for those when I ever get around to replacing the bushings...

Oh! and my front sway end link bushings are already cracked/splitting. Guess I know what to do now... POLY EVERYTHING!

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

When you get done trying the impact gun - make sure you have heat and a 5' breaker bar ;)

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

The first time I removed my sub frame was for my s1x cam. I installed it through the passenger wheel well.
Boy was that fun. Using the starter to blip the crank bolt and turning those sub frame bolts thst sounded worse then an arthritis orgry.

after that - a jar of anti-seize goes a long way.

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0

That's what I used to lower the subframe when I tried to replace the inner tie rods... Worked like a charm.

I should add that it was a 1/2" air impact. Lol
